Rumour has it that a certain CAS hooker has been licking his opposition hooker mid scrum as a show of dominance and intimidation to put them off their game. Can anybody confirm this?

Some breaking news: Talakai is out for waverley as his ankle was badly injured at training yesterday during a tackling drill. It looks asif it will be unplayable on. I dont know how waverley will cope with this huge loss with their lack of depth in the front row.

Probably too early in the season to say. Though I think it will be closer this year than last...no stand out side like there was with Barker last year. Trinity and Knox probably shade the others, but injuries could play a role. And to use a cliche, "on their day" any side could beat another.

Thats a shame with reports of Charles I-M and Talakai both being ruled out for Waverley team. Charles showed some promise last year - even though he was in the shadow of Jed and Jessie - two very capable forwards as their selections showed. Heard lots about Talakai - he will be on his feet in no time. Its only round two - four more games to impress before June 4 selection.

Why limit the combining to CAS and GPS why not have all the schools in the one overall comp with divisions and promotion and relegation based on !st XV, 2nd XV and 16As performances from the previous year.
You could run the traditional comps as add ons before, during or after: so if Kings and Joeys happen to be in Div 1 in 2011 when they play it is for GPS points as well as for Points in the new comp. To decide the GPS premiership they play Grammar in a game outside the new comp for GPS points. It would not be that hard to do. It would help the weaker schools get stronger because there would be less concern about them losing by huge margins or injuries and it would have players playing worthy opponents week in week out.....not that that is what they are at school to do, of course!

Yes Cam Orr in the front row.Is filling in due to injury but think he could easily move back to lock or loosie. Hazell as well is a flanker or nos 8 and should be nos 8 next year.

Herd some stefan kid from waverley's 2nds, not a very overall good player and no where close to C. Ingram. Melson's size and skill.
Due to waverley's poor depth. Have'nt herd of anything on C. Talakai.

Waverley's CAS reps from last year S. Talakai, C. Ingram-Melsom, J. Johnson, W. Patterson, K. Gudgon, O. Nicholson, D. Lobos-Gonzales. Only Lobos-Gonzales & Gudgon not in Waverley First XV are they playing that bad or is Waverley firsts that strong. Waverley by 12, Knox by 16, Barker by 20.

In a rather dull game Knox accounted for Cranbrook 34 - 0. Cranbrook took it to Knox initially but failed to make any impression in attack. Both sides seemed reluctant to use their backs effectively with kicking or running the ball back into the forwards. Knox seem to give away a lot of penalties (in both the 1sts and 2nds), but even with this possession Cranbrook's backline looked a little listless. Their inside centre made some good breaks, but often ran away from his support. Knox will need to improve, their backline looked more cohesive last week. The Knox halfback unfortunately modelled his game today on an out of form Gregan playing badly. His tardiness at the ruck caused too many turn-overs. And it is never a good vie watching the half back kick the ball on the attack in the opposition's 22 with a backline waiting. He will probably need to improve the speed of his pass as well, often his pass allowed the opposition to swamp the backline. That said he does seem to be that little tigerish half back that keeps the ball in the forwards (which seems the way the Knox coached sides seem to be...and he has played more effectively in other games) I think both sides will improve, Knox when they get their ull complement of injured players back and a bit more team work and Cranbrook will only get better playing at home and playing with more spirit - I think they got a little dispirited out there today. Also the Knox forwards eventually got on top. The score may have blown out a bit more, but a raft of replacements to Knox in the second half took the momentum away.
The best for Knox would have been their number 6 and number 13. The tackle he put on the Cranbook half at one stage was felt around the ground.
