Swings and rounabouts the contempt the Canberra public gave Rocky. He earned every boo that came his way.

Rocky has cynically played the Australian rugby system like a Stradivarius in the last two years. Loyalty to virtually no one, a flop as Wallaby captain that had to be dropped, injuries upon injuries, poor RWC play, lucrative contracts upon contracts, 'in absentia' captain of Tahs but on big salary, this week criticizing Brumbies of 2011 though he barely played a game for them but took big $s....

FFS, why would you think knowledgeable Aus rugby supporters in Canberra (or anywhere) would not justifiably boo this bloke?

Just waiting for the soon-coming roll call of excuses for Tahs 2012, version 206a. When it's great to have injuries to mask the inner truth.

One day, the revolution will come. Then the Tahs potential will be realized, not before.
Not here. Sure we have injuries. But the style of play with attacking ball is a deeper source of rot. Apart from Mitchell and Turner, no-one else would add much. And mostly, the forwards are not the big problem.

I can understand why they would boo him, although personally I wouldn't do it, when they feel used and betrayed.

For me Rocky will always be a legend for what he did for us at Leinster, but with us is probably the last time he's performed to such a high standard and on a consistent basis.

Am I the only person who kind of likes Rocky?
You may well be.

Interesting when he came on he was making captain decisions like opting for the corner but could muscle up the fortitude to do the post game interview.

Great game by the Brumbies, Waratahs backs were ordinary, Betham should have been pulled early, there was heart in the Brumbies not the Waratahs. Epsom deserved the booing.

Because Robinson was off at the time, perhaps? And Robinson is the captain currently.

I feel for the Tah forwards. They do their job well but it gets wasted by the backs. Skill execution is a big issue for the Tah backs but their forwards are very solid indeed.

Bardon in all honesty he was only just reaching those heights when he sought and received a special release from the Tahs to go to Ireland, apparently on the understanding that he would return to play at the Tahs after his Euro sojourn.

Rocky then negotiates (as he manages himself) a new special arrangement with the ARU that gets him selected for the Wallabies not playing a game of Super Rugby and to boot named Capatin. He signs with the Brumbies and rarely plays for them. A Brumbies fan could count on one hand how many games he played and they never reached the heights of his Euro displays or even his Tah displays and still managed to get selected for the Wallabies regardless of others more deserving and "uninjured" displays. After two years of this he head to the Tahs after seeing of the coach of the Brumbies and spends the first 9 weeks "injured". Now his new contract has injury clauses and he has to play a certain number of games so he has some 20-30 minute cameos and will again be selected for the Wallabies regardless.

You can have him back anytime you want.

I am so fucking sick and tired of supporting the waratahs. My cat only has one intact/unbroken rib left for the rest of the of the season, 7 more rounds to go. I hope for his sake these useless pack of pricks finish strong....

I meant to post at the time, somebody has to have a look at serious protocols regarding treatment of players who have apparently been knocked unconscious or concussed. TPN was clearly knocked out after his attempted tackle on McAbe. I saw him in back play try to get up and stumble two steps to fall face first into the turf. He then plays on!!! Yes we know he is as tough as teak but FFS where is the duty of care from the officials and Tahs medicos. If they didn't see that somebody should've told them as it is directly relevent to the condition of their charge. If it had been boxing the ref would have called a TKO.

I also posted a few weeks ago that unless TPN moderates and refines his tackling technique he will shorten his career by years and I am beginning to think ruin his quality of life after Rugby.

Rocky was really good for us so I'll always have respect for him. But him leaving when he did allowed Sean O'Brien to come through and I've no doubt we got the better of that deal. So while I'll always have a soft spot for Rocky I think I'll stick with O'Brien.

With my Tahs fan hat on he needs to start performing and remain injury free for an extended period or space needs to be made for someone who will do it for the Tahs.

What a dominant effort from the Brumbies, definitely the form team in the Aussie conference. Lots of good players tonight and I thought the wingers both had huge games.

The potential loss of Lealifano must be very sobering though.
