If the waratahs forward pack get a roll on like they did against the reds, then this game will be over in 30 minutes. The Tahs forward pack are real stars of the rugby juggernaut Chieka has created, as without them constantly over powering the opponents the Tahs backline would struggle.
Although they have performed brilliantly thus far I don't think players like Beale, Alofa and Betham can really stump up the goods when the forwards are stagnant. Which is the case with most backline, but in saying this I feel that parity is reached up front Speight, Kuridrani, McCabe are more likely to punch holes from a standing start than their opposite numbers.
Realistically the Waratahs can get away with a backline brimming with octane and scraping for graft as their forwards are so ruthless and powerful and thus far have received little resistance. While the brumbies forwards aren't as dynamic as the boys in blues, something needs to be said about their work as a unit to do the shitters and attention to detail when it comes to set piece and breakdown.
I am backing brumbies by 3, if the game is slowed down to the brumbies pace I can't see the tahs backline handling a dockyard brawl style of game. If they do however I am willing to back them as the real deal.
