Who selected this team? IMO Fardy and Carter are being 'rested' for 2015 World Cup, or ARU has determined "we have to let Wales win one match on tour"!

The big Welshman from Melbourne is on the bench!

Btw, there's no coverage of this match, unless it's viewers choice or an online stream, similar to the English Baa Baas game.

Mowen is with the Wobs.

Fardy and Carter are our first choice locks and I would assume they've been rested to give the other guys a run.

That's also why Fotu and Mogg are on the bench, to give the other guys some game time...

Still, thanks to a few Wallaby snubs we get to run a pretty strong team.

I really wish this was being televised.

who from that team do you think should be in the Wallaby squad?

Glad to see Delve back in Welsh colours, although gutted that Falatau is out of the tour with a broken hand (could explain his quiet game on Saturday I guess).

It's a shame that some of the Brumbies best players aren't playing against Wales, or not starting, but you'll see the same thing next year when the Lions are here. All the Super teams they play will do the same thing.

This didn't happen last time because the Super 12 season was over.

I may go down to the game if it's not on TV, but only if the weather is fine.

So Siliva is fit to play at last. Anybody know how long he has been playing club footie for?

And Sio is starting as THP? He hasn't started in a Super game yet and I only know him on the park as a LHP except for a couple of scrums from the bench in Super Rugby. That will be interesting. Like Siliva he is a mobile front runner, and one I thought in his school days that should be trained as a hooker in senior rugby.

Then there is flyer Tom Cox on the bench: reputedly the fastest contracted Super player in Oz.

There's some interest in the game.

LG,

Siliva's knee was heavily strapped yesterday. He's been playing for Royals only for a few weeks after coming back from the dreaded syndismosis in the ankle. Apparently he's a talent but I haven't seen him on the park at all since he turned up.

And it won't be that cold...

I saw above that the game isn't being televised. Not entirely sure I believe that. Why on earth would they not film it? There isn't much hope for midweek tour matches if they are not going to be taken seriously.

It won't be televised live.

It will be on radio though

to be honest its not the networks organising these mid-week matches. Its the union and the touring team. Its not there for content. Its there for providing depth further opportunities.

I don't agree with that at all. Midweek touring matches can be some of the most entertaining games around. Just ask the Munster team in 1978 or the Hawkes Bay team of 1993.

Well that's 2 examples. But you miss my point. These weren't organised by fox for content. It was organised by the Brumbies and the Welsh.

I guess I understand that, but I think that games like this should be televised not only because I think they would be commercially profitable but also because they serve to generate excitement around a tour. SH fans get to see NH players whom we generally wouldn't and vice versa.

I recently watched on Youtube an old rugby doco called "The Good the Bad and the Rugby" which was a cheesy film of the 1989 All Blacks tour of Wales and Ireland. They played 14 games, 2 of which were tests and played in front of passionate (often violently so) fans who thought it was fantastic to see the All Blacks playing at their home ground, even though it was usually a totally different side to the test team. While I realise we will never quite go back to those days, I was hoping that the new 3 test tours system would generate a little bit of the old magic. Games not being televised will only lead to teams not bothering even with the odd midweek game.
