Julian Salvi is on...

I only noticed because he gives away the most blatant penalty in front of the posts...

Brumbies' breakdown work is just abysmal...

If Gits kicks his the Ponies regain the lead. Cheaky penalty from Valentine as he does a Gregan and cynically passes the ball into an offside man.

Kicked. 16 to 15.

Anyone else noticed the huge Ponies injury toll?

Valentine is like a Meercat with Parkinsons, he takes sooooooo long to clear the ball, then throws some dire passes.

17 to 16 even. Jism with a break. He has had some good runs until he hits contact and then iis weak.

Ponies have picked up the intensity here but they are taking an eternity to clear the ruck.

Brumbies earn another penalty for not letting the tackled player play the ball.

Gits is injured and the Ponies only have a reserve 9 left in the backs c

To'omua misses the penalty.

And To'omua kicks as well from the tee as from hand, misses a very kickable penalty. Still 17-16 Brumbies

I reckon that Hand has been better than Jism tonight despite Jism getting some space with some ball carries.

Ponies lose another lineout. Their lineout has been shocking tonight.

Brumbies should've gotten a penalty on that scrum I think.

Gits gets a clever kick for he corner after a huge tackle from Hegarty or Salvi turned it over. Ponies need to play field position here.

Gees the Brumbies are weak at the breakdown tonight, especially protecting their own ball.

Jism loses the ball but Joubert says it came off the Canes after another surrender into contact.

Conrad Smith looks like he is in huge trouble. Broken nose and cheekbone? Shame for such a great player. He had been pretty good too.

Brumbies again drive them back 4m from the scrum. I reckon that the Ponies should get 5m out then drop the ball.

Gits misses a droppie then To'omua puts one out on the full. Claims it was touched. Canes now with good field position.

Here come the Canes...but a turnover to the Brumbies (they actually counter-rucked) and Gits pumps it long into Canes 22m.

And they get another from attacking the breakdown. Hope they video these games and watch later, they might be illuminated.

Brumbies finally get a good counter ruck and get the ball. Great Kick from Gits puts the Canes back into heir 22. Gits has stood up a bit tonight in a messy Brumbies performance.

2:30 left and he Brumbies have a scrummon the Canes 22 as Gits stays down injured.

Canes are shattered at scrum time as Schwalger dives into the hit. Brumbies should just scrum the games away.

2 and a hlf mins to go, Brumbies scrum 30m out from Canes line...1 collapse as the Canes LHP fell over; that should have been a penalty Brums as the Canes unbound as they got reamed...less than a minute to go...To'omua setting for droppie...but they kick it out instead. Win by a point. Ugly, but effective, I guess.

One minute left as Valentine looks uninterested in clearing the ruck.

Time up as Gits kicks it out. Ponies up 17 to 16 and the celebrate crazily.

Both teams a bit of a disaster area this year.

Good scrum, and not much else to be excited about. But, a win is a win. Funny how they actually got over the Canes at the end by attacking the breakdown a bit. Gits did well I thought, Kimlin good, front row / tight 5 scrummed well, back row pretty invisible I thought. Lealiifano looks handy, Speight quiet in 2nd half. No-one else really stood out as beyond average, Chis must have made 5 m for 10 runs apart from his one line break.
