My armchair knee doctor report on Cubelli is that I think there's a pretty decent chance he hasn't done his ACL.

Getting flexed backwards put a lot of pressure on his medial ligament and that's where I think he'll have a tear which is both the most painful ligament to damage (because it is the biggest ligament in the knee and has the most blood flow) but will also heal itself as long as you don't rupture it completely.

Anyway, that's my prediction. It will be a medial ligament tear and he'll be back playing within 6 weeks. I hope I'm right for Cubelli and the Brumbies' sake!

He'll be a big loss - after Tomane went down last year he was our most threatening backline player............

I guess the swelling needs to go completely before they're 100% sure. Hope he doesn't miss the whole season.

Tomás Cubelli Injury Update

MONDAY 2 FEBRUARY 2017

Following the pre-season trial match with the Waratahs at Glen Willow Regional Sports Stadium on Saturday the Plus500 Brumbies are disappointed to learn that scrum-half Tomás Cubelli has ruptured his patellar tendon.

Cubelli suffered an injury to his knee in the 37th minute and the rupture was confirmed by a specialist in Sydney this morning.

Cubelli will undergo surgery tomorrow and will begin his rehabilitation with the Plus500 Brumbies thereafter. The Argentinean international will miss the start of the Super Rugby season as he begins his recovery.

He'd be long odds to play a Super Rugby game this year.

Will be lucky to return for the Rugby Championship.

Guys just a reminder that just be wary about coming on to other team's threads and making provocative posts looking for a reaction. It's really bad form and will be frowned upon.

Cheers

Thanks Reg and noted. We won't make any provocative remarks as you have Quade so after his weekly mediocrity we will just need to agree with the whinging Reds supporters to enjoy ourselves.
