Is it Jono Owen who is an Aussie but has been playing for Counties in the ITM Cup? He's been going alright, too.

Disagree - he's been going more than all right.

They call him the Bear.

Great player playing a great season.

On a side note his ball skills are so disgustingly awful for a professional player, regardless of his position.

This being said, he has been great in all the departments you'd expect a prop to be.

Brumbies are expected to upgrade Robbie Coleman from rookie to full time contract.
They are also linked with Henry Speight from Waikato.

Further to this, the local paper says that Speight has agreed to a 2 year deal.

I hope that's true about Coleman... I'm still disappointed that we lost Battye to the Force...

Coleman isn't going to get any better chance with the other Aus teams for next year, but if he's patient he'll step in line to replace Giteau at inside centre post RWC... and it'll make a great young backline with the likes of White, To'omua etc.

That's probably why he chooses to run more often than not. Can't say I watched all his scrums to see if his side was going OK, but the times I remembered to they were decent.

I'm glad Coleman has been promoted. It's odds on that Giteau will be going offshore after the RWC and that will be nice timing as he should be well on the way to being matured as a senior player by then.

I also see that Finegan will be coaching the Gunghalin Eagles next year... replacing Marco Caputo who is replacing Finegan as Brumbies' forwards coach...

Interesting...

What's the chances that Giteua will stay at inside centre when he returns to the Brumbies.... Would be better for the Wallabies if he did

Lealifano or To'omua at 5/8 and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13

even when gits leaves, I have only seen coleman in the u20's so I cant rate him,

He seemed rapid though and could maybe play 15 in a similar way to c.cullen, i would keep christian at 12 he looked lively last year before he got injured

9. Phibbs
10. To'omua
11. McCabe
12. Giteau
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14. Fainifo
15. Lealiifano

20. Valentine
21. Coleman
22. A. Smith

That would be mine, but I haven't seen anything of Wara or Speight

id swap valentine for phibbs and maybe nic white on the bench

Didn't forget about Whitey, just think that at this stage Valentine and Phibbs are definitely ahead of him. He'll get some good game time this season and will serve a great apprenticeship under Valentine and Phibbs, and inside of Giteau and To'omua, to be groomed for 2012.

Other than than a couple of 50/50's I think the backline sorts itself out. The most interesting for me is the Elsom, Hoiles, Salvi, Fainga'a, Hooper, Kimlin, Chapman battle for backrow positions.

White looked really good for the U20's I rate him over Phibbs but I suppose a year under their wing won't do him any harm

6. Elsom 7.Colby F 8. Hoiles

Salvi was good for Bath but he is a penalty machine and needs to settle down a bit

Why do Brumbies supporters hate Phibbs so much, I think he is pretty good myself, he is a good all round 9 to me, solid defence, nice distributor and good calm leader

Coleman was nominated for junior IRB player of the year...

Lilo is more of a fullback... when Gits goes I think Coleman will slot into inside centre...

I think if AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is pushing to stick with outside centre again the Brumbies need to go with Lilo at fullback with McCabe on one wing... so:

9. Valentine
10. To'omua
11. Fainifo/Speight/A Smith/Stubbs???
12. Giteau
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14. McCabe
15. Lealiifano

20. White
21. Coleman
22. The next best winger/outside centre

The lock/backrow is going to be tough to choose...

Is Hoiles going to be fit for the early games? I'd love to see Elsom shift to no. 8 to so they can play Chapman at his best position of blindside flanker with Fainga'a at openside...

Kimlin and Chisholm would have to be my choice for locks with Hand on the bench...

All of his is complicated with Salvi, Hoiles and Hooper there...

Is Owen still on a rookie contract? And does he also play TH?

The Brumbies need a quality loosehead... can't we trade Jerry with somebody? Please???!?!!

He's a responsible player/leader type. Not a captain, but someone who could still perform a good leadership role within the Brumbies team. Plus, I think he's technically as good as Valentine at the moment, but that's opinion mostly.
