They cut just about everything eventually. I think the only decent Netflix show that made it past 2 seasons was Stranger Things?I’d be hesitant about Netflix…
they can be brutal in terms of production costs and cutting programs, even seemingly successful ones.
They’ve got enough money and alternate content to make ruthless decisions and cut programs that aren’t fulfilling metrics.

This was massive for Cricket in deciding to stay with 7/Fox at the time, despite having a (rumoured) larger offer from paramount/10.It would need to be a lot more than $1 more to justify a swap, particularly if all the offers are below the ~ $50 million it looks like we need. There's a very real cost associated with that change over to a knew platform and a risk of fan attrition as a result. The other big question with moving from Stan/Nine to another platform is going to be how you value that marketing contra and having presence in what is now the biggest (only?) Australian news media conglomerate with a heavy sports broadcasting presence.
Aside from the occasional interesting opinion from some in their team, the 7 coverage is also very good - it bests Fox's in many ways tbh.I've got to say. FOX's coverage of the cricket is excellent and we are quite spoilt.
I realised this after seeing the NZ coverage in their series against England. We are truly lucky.
I agree, Fox seem to do a bloody good job of cricket coverage. NZ will never compete the game isn'tpopukar enough over here to spend too much on coverage, and why it's generally on FTA.I've got to say. FOX's coverage of the cricket is excellent and we are quite spoilt.

Beauty of competition right?Aside from the occasional interesting opinion from some in their team, the 7 coverage is also very good - it bests Fox's in many ways tbh.
It's a hard no for Rugby to move to Dazn. I just helped my FIL set up Dazn so he could watch the EFL Cup.
The application is absolutely terrible. I thought it was his fires tick so I bought him an Apple TV and it was just as crap on that.
The EPL is moving to self producing content and is moving away from relying on broadcasters. It's something WR (World Rugby) (World Rugby) should consider doing to be honest and sell every game in the world to punters. A true one stop shop.
Another key factor in RA’s future financial health is the massive predicted loss of broadcast revenue in New Zealand. Sources say Sky is offering NZ Rugby a multimillion dollar downgrade on their current deal from 2026 onwards.
The Kiwis’ existing deal is worth around $NZ80 million ($72 million) a year, with inside figures suggesting that the new offer could be as low as $NZ50 million a year.
Wow.. only marginally more than what they’re paying for NRL…And NZ apparently going to receive a significantly reduced amount from Sky…
That's the difference between two sporting codes one driven by a club based proven business model that generates growth, support, equalization, better business decisions, private equity, Tribalism, Cross town derby's, Competitive broadcast landscape etc etc.Wow.. only marginally more than what they’re paying for NRL…
In 2022 NRL rights in NZ went from $16million a year to $32million a year, and potentially Rugby Union has gone from $72million to $50million.
but NRL isn’t a threat in NZ apparently..
Does that include the South Africa tours? My understanding is they were portioning off the rights for those separately, which might explain some of the drop. Certainly won't be all of it though.Wow.. only marginally more than what they’re paying for NRL…

Would still be included in this negotiation between NZRU and Sky though, whether they then exclude that figure from the legacy SANZAAR or Super Rugby negotiations/pooling is a different topic.Does that include the South Africa tours? Yep, Sky got no competition for rugby once Spark went under, so that stopped any rises. Will be interesting to see what they end up paying.Would still be included in this negotiation between NZRU and Sky though, whether they then exclude that figure from the legacy SANZAAR or Super Rugby negotiations/pooling is a different topic.
Interesting though that Sky don’t see an uplift in broadcast value even with these new Springbok tours at the expense of the Rugby Championship.
