Yeah posted something similar in the match thread. Can't overstate how important the mid-week was in reaching the casual sports fan who otherwise wouldn't have watched on a Saturday night as they had other plans or NRL/AFL was on.As a 27 year old in Sydney, most Saturdays I'll have either a friends birthday, an event, or a family commitment.
It's very, very hard to catch a Wallabies game given this as most of Australia simply don't care. My AFL-loving friends don't really have this problem, as entire friendship circles will build their calendar around big games.
I watched every game of the French series, and I adored the game last night. Friends who would've never given a single shit about rugby union were super active in the group chat, and it's no wonder to me the viewership was good.
If you can't dominate the mainstream, fight for territory on the fringes.
I love mid-week tests.
Have you ever considered getting new friends??As a 27 year old in Sydney, most Saturdays I'll have either a friends birthday, an event, or a family commitment.

.
Not sure if I could find 4 people my age in Sydney that all watch rugby union.Have you ever considered getting new friends??
Mate to be fair I am not young enough to pick mates by how much fun they are anyway, easier to have ones that just watch rugby. Not sure if I could find 4 people my age in Sydney that all watch rugby union.
Even those that do I wouldn’t jump willingly into a friendship with.
Maybe says something about me.

Silver lining - the casuals who tuned in for Bled 1 and enjoyed it probably didn't have their newfound love muddied by Bled 2's shithouseryBad time, started while the AFL gf was on & while the lead up to Panthers v Souths. Would have only be die hards watching cant imagine casuals tuning in.
70%? They cannot do this. The upside of these figures as a percentage of potential viewers is that there is still a lot of room for growth.
Compare this with the NRL, AFL and NZ Rugby broadcast audiences where they are close to their potential viewership.
If the Wallabies can attain a win rate of around 70% this will unlock the growth and the income that comes with that extra success.
Easy to write about, a lot more difficult to achieve.
Not with the current team, but with Vunivalu, Kerevi, Cooper,Rodda, Mafi and Swinton in the mix, the Wallabies become a smarter and tougher team to play against.70%? They cannot do this.
Mafi is a tad left of field. Not with the current team, but with Vunivalu, Kerevi, Cooper,Rodda, Mafi and Swinton in the mix, the Wallabies become a smarter and tougher team to play against.
I agree, but hooker is a position that is far from being locked in by any of the 2’s that played there in the last two years.Mafi is a tad left of field.
