Are we really at the point of 'ah bugger it, this will do' in regards to our lock situation? I would love to see Humphries leap frog mumm and Chisolm into the starting team with one of them on the bench. Surely if we can manage to give Chis 50 chances to prove himself, we can at least give Van the Man 1. I don't mind the idea of Rocket Rod on the wing either - it seems both Turner and Shmoo respond fairly well after being dropped. We already know that they are 'capable' test match players.

For me it should be;

Robinson
Moore
Alexander

Sharpe
Humphries

Elsom
Pocock
McCalman

Genia
Cooper

Davies
Giteau
Ashley-Cooper
Turner
Beale

Slipper
Fainga'a
Mumm
Higginbotham
Barnes
Burgess
Hynes

Turner deserves to start. He wasn't just 'capable' in the last game, he was in the Wallabies top 3 players. He did that despite not playing any of the previous test matches. We should give him the opportunity to see if he can get even better, and if he can perform consistently. Add that to the fact he is a much better defender that Davies or Mitchell.

If Davies is going to start, I'd prefer to see Mitchell dropped all together, with JOC (James O'Connor) on the bench.

I can't see Robbie dropping JOC (James O'Connor) from the team completely, especially for Hynes... I think JOC (James O'Connor) deserves a place in the 22 despite differing opinions

8 McCalman
7 Pocock

My fuck-it team would be slightly more redcentric.

Yes, Turner and Davies would be an exciting wing combination. Turner, Davies and Beale is a fast back three.

Mitchell was one of the most dangerous wingers in the comp this year. Thought he'd de-flaked quite a bit as well

I agree, his defense has improved out of sight in recent times. I know Davies is good but I'm not sure a test against the all blacks is a great place blood him. Certainly against the Italians or Welsh, but the all blacks? For me it has to be Turner and Mitchell on the wings with Beale at Fullback. Tahs back 3 for sure.

Yep.

At least while Ioane is out injured.

When we have a fully fit squad (or rather if we ever have a fully fit squad) then Ioane comes on for Turner... Turner to the bench... JOC (James O'Connor) completely out of the 22...

Wish it as much as you like, but Robbie has wood for JOC (James O'Connor), or so it seems, so I can't see it happening.

Damn, I thought this match was on tonight. It's like going through the day thinking it's a Friday and realizing around 4pm that it's actually a Tuesday. We really need a domestic comp to fill this horrible gap. At least a possibles vs probables match or SOMETHING.

I know... his boy-love is hurting the team with JOC (James O'Connor) somehow guaranteed a place in the starting XV...

There's really no use for him to be quite honest... he's not a winger, and with Cooper, Barnes, Giteau and Beale in the team he's not required to cover any inside back positions...

He is a waste of space... but I bet Deans has Bieber posters in his bedroom...

JOC (James O'Connor) has played very well the last few games, I don't see what people are basing this gripe on

Has scored a few tries on the back of good play from other backs (like Beale)...

But he's just not a winger... not quick enough... can't catch a high ball and ALWAYS gets caught out in defence...

He'll leak another 2-3 tries next weekend...

His best position (in my opinion) is inside centre, but there's obviously some congestion there... he's still young and his time will come...

"not quick enough" is a pretty poor claim to make. He used very good pace off the mark to put Rocky in for a try in the Bloem game, and used some decent pace scoring in Sydney.

He has had hiccups under the high ball, but so have Mitchell and Beale. You paint the picture like "There is no chance he will catch the high ball under any circumstances" which is simply false.

His defence (thanks Jnor) has perhaps let in a try in games this year, but not "2-3".

My broken record crusade is for Bieber Boy to come in closer to the action, 12 or 13, maybe even 10 against some of the minnows as a trial.

He is young and malleable with potential. Don't write him off yet.

Gilbert has been able to be re-invented as a competent but raw test level 15. Why not JOC (James O'Connor) being re-roled?

I laugh how people say he has scored a few tries off some good work from others.... I think some people underestimate how hard it is to find a winger who knows where to put himself in a position of receiving the ball and secondly, having the ability to actually put themselves in that a spot.
