Clearly the QLD government splashed some cash, considering they have 3 tests some years, which I think is quite unfair. Cue the "we're Super Rugby champions" comment.

Games are selling out in hours, and the home team usually wins them - not always a given for the wallabies. It's always a balance.

sorry. newcastle for scotland. what kind of crowd will that get? surely scotland could still pull a decent number in a larger city at say the SFS, AAMI and even Canberra!

Newcastle actually has a bigger population than Canberra.

That said, I don't think the Newcastle demographic is likely to be particularly rugby union focused.

Out of pure curiosity which years do we have three tests?
Wasn't aware of that.

Wait, since when are Newcastle getting a test?!

If that's the case then it's a huge slap in the face for Canberra...

Next year.

If you look at the Super Rugby calendar, plus all these tests, it does make for a massive season for the players. Guess they're earning every dollar.

I actually think thats great, as I live in Brisbane. I know I know I'm being selfish.

I guess it is all about growing the game and at the end of the day it is not a bad thing.

Newcastle/Hunter Region has a strong rugby community. I think you will find quite a few turn up.

Fair point about Suncorp, I love the stadium.

Ideally, in years that the GC hosts the Argies, you'd rotate the June test between Canberra/Adelaide/Newcastle.

GC should never host a test. It is only a train ride from Brisbane.
I don't think we should discount any locality, as long as it's evenly distributed.

Look after the markets, which support Rugby: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra (generally in that order) then rotate elsewhere.

Hell, I'd even like Geelong to host a game some day. I don't think they've ever setup sticks at that stadium.

Well that is just stupid. Then why play in Newcastle or Gosford.

Hell we can flip that. Why play in Brisbane it is just a train ride from the GC. They only need to build a bigger stadium than Suncorp.
