Victorian Prop Alex Sa'aga notably will be someone to watch at up coming tournament. Very quick on his feet for a big fella. Very strong in scrum, also in carry stats and meters gained. His brother Fereti is a good player, but I'm gonna say Alex is better.

Very surprised not to see H Turner (CHS) there. Any news?

Many others have expressed the same thoughts as you Prodigy, however he has been selected as a shadow player for NSW which makes him eligible for Combined States. The team will be announced on Monday 24th@8pm
Don't be "surprised" when you see his name on it! NGU

I will say it, cannot believe there is only one Joeys player in above teams. How could selectors not find a spot for Triston Reilly ? You are kidding if you think he does not belong.

I rate Edwards very highly, thought he might have jagged a starting front row spot.

But II's bench a higher honour than I.

All the boys will get some time in front of selectors.

Good luck to them all.

Reilly is a fine player that unfortunately through injury hasn't had the opportunity to properly cement his place in the NSW I or II side. Perhaps this is why the selectors did not include him the side even though he is clearly more than capable.

It reminds me of a similar event occurring last year in the national trials when then leading try-score Jackson Mohi could not compete due to illness/injury on the final day of the carnival and was subsequently and rather mysteriously left out of the Barbarians and Schoolboys.

Unfortunately non-selections of this type are part and parcel of schoolboy rugby and hopefully Reilly will have the opportunity through Combined State to prove his worth to the national selectors. My only concern is that the whole process might turn him off union and send him to league where I have seen his name floating around in a few representative sides.

Not sure I follow - so if you are injured and can't complete the program at Riverview - say the final when NSW 2 d NSW 1 - you should
be selected over the top of those who did play? There are, possibly, a very small no. of absolute stand out players who could do this, but the vast majority would surely have to play out the tournament to be selected?
