They've not paid any of the Rebels debts off yet - still in court. Only paid the the Rebels salaries
Strewth didn't say RA paid off the Rebels debt, just that they paid to keep the Rebels runnings and cover the operating losses for the remainder of 2024, which they did.

They also paid more than just the Rebels salaries; they had to renegotiate several supplier and vendor contracts for the remainder of 2024 because these organisations and companies were creditors to the Rebels already, including stadium and food/beverage contracts.

Not to mention flights, transport, accomodation, and any other ad hoc expenses for 30 odd people every away game, which this year for the Rebels included four trips to NZ and one to Fiji

I’m missing your point- they do that for the Waratahs who are equally up shits creek?

"Yeah, it’s been a pretty exciting game so far! Lots of back-and-forth action and some great plays. What do you think has been the best moment up to now?"

Or you could go with something more casual:

"Totally! The game's been keeping me entertained. Who do you think is going to score next?"

Feel free to keep it light and engaging!
I think you're only supposed to pick one of the responses chatgpt gives you...

Didn't you hear, RA infiltrated the Rebels, and spent all there money and basically robbed the directors.. poor Rebels..

RA should burn in hell for over spending by 20 million dollars all so they could prop up the Tahs.
I love the hubris of fans from franchises who haven’t published an annual report since 2022 (which clearly showed they were on their arse), but delight in being able to point to the scale of the rebels insolvency because it hid their own smaller financial failure.

And the Brumbies are at fault for there financial position too... That's there fault not RA's. The common theme amount Rebel fans, and there board was a lack of accountability for there own mistakes.

There's no delight in seeing the Rebels go under, it's a tragic end, I didn't want. But maybe they say something when they were in 1 million debt not 20 and you'd still have a club to support. But the only thing that has come out is it's always someone else's fault...

Oh, and for all those people on here that defend RA - https://www.melbournestorm.com.au/news/2024/07/22/storm-launches-female-development-program/

The 30 players were selected from a list of more than 80 athletes aged between 15 and 16 who trialled in three combines across metro-Melbourne over the last month.
The difference being here that the Storm have an avenue to make money to fund these programs whereas Rugby Vic is a community organisation and the Rebels bled money, spent more than they had and lied to RA and ASX about it.

All well and good to look over the fence at your neighbour and be angry that they're successful - but it's really apples and oranges.

Here goes Rugby again. Face an issue and look who to blame and never look in the mirror.

Has RA been apart of the problem? Undeniably yes. But it seems this exonerates the complete mismanagement and borderline (not really borderline) fraudulent behaviour of the Rebels Management. Some of whom jumped off 'Burn City' at the first sign of trouble and have landed on their feet just fine.

Well no, RA has all clubs locked into a financial unsustainable competition. The game won’t survive being trapped into super rugby.

While it’s not up to the Brumbies to build a new stadium. You get 6 home games at the worst ground in the comp. RA is responsible for the TV rights and we keep getting less money for the rights

Let's look in the mirror a little - so by this assessment are NSW and ACT also to be held to the same standard as they are loss making? Reds do OK but WA was broke before Twiggy stepped in.

By this definition they are all mismanaged right?

There is a clear difference between operating at a loss and trading while insolvent.
"The fact the Waratahs were under significant financial stress was a major factor, and though Doorn denied the franchise was insolvent, that outcome was a matter of when, not if. " "November 10, 2023 The Age.

"Exclusive: 'Seismic shift' as Waratahs to hand over keys to RA in boost to reform push - others to follow" 5th October, 2023 - The Roar

That's obviously still not the same as actually trading while insolvent for a number of years...

Feel free to continue to try and compare the financial situations the Waratahs and Brumbies were in with the Rebels, but the simple fact that they were worlds apart.
