no.1 definetaly does. has the Bell type build.

1, 8, 9, 13 have been best for me in the first half. 3 started warming into it as did 5

up in QLD - brothers rugby is only the real venue that’s fully encloses and you can have entry points to charge for admission.

National rugby championship fixtures might need to be played at Ballymore or suburban grounds that can be profitable

Quite interesting about France resting 20 of their best for the tour next year against NZ. So, we need more games and they need less games.

It's a shame they're resting so many, really makes it feel like a mickymouse competition.

France plays over 30 Domestic and Europe Cup Competitive Games (add international on top) - twice as many as Super Rugby; makes sense some need a rest.

The surprising thing for me is not so much New Zealand next year (they've rested for July tours as standard) but that it includes 2026 - the first year of the nations championship. Not fielding a full strength side for those clashes could really hurt their chances.

They do carry sometimes 40 players though in a club. Plus the Espoires which is U21? with another 20 players. Some of these guys will come up through the year.

Shame for that tour I guess.

Yeah, Skelton normally plays around 20-25 games a year, starting around 15 or so games. It's more than Super Rugby, but the load is managed for most players.

Nick Frost is at 25 games so far this year

Sounds like Rugby Victoria don't feel very supported

STATEMENT | RUGBY VICTORIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Rugby Victoria is deeply saddened and disappointed by Rugby Australia's decision to pull back investment in women's rugby in Victoria. The opportunity base for women to play rugby professionally was already small and by cutting the Melbourne Rebels from the Super W program in 2025, it has effectively reduced that by 20%, not just for Victorians, but also for all professional female players across Australia.

The Melbourne Rebels Super W team represented the pinnacle for local players to aspire to, and this year we had our highest ever number of registered girls and women players. This included successfully attending representative tournaments in U13, U15, and U18 girl’s teams.

We will continue to look for avenues that can build on the great work we have done so far in the State. We look forward to continued collaboration with all our stakeholders, to ensure all lovers of rugby union can continue to play and watch our great game.
