I think they actually made a small profit this last year. Somehow.
You're assuming that they will disappear if they go broke. I'm not. They're like the dead, hard to kill again!
WA could bankrupt the ARU with $100 million lawsuit over the Western Force’s axingThe State Government has warned the Australian Rugby Union it will sue for more than $100 million in the wake of the Western Force debacle — a move that would bankrupt the cash-strapped governing body. The escalation came as thousands of fans gathered at RugbyWA ..................A Government insider said it was “not an idle threat”.
Surely gives new meaning to the phrase 'an embattled (ARU) Board' as they contemplate this new missile heading eastwards.

What is it that Sanzar have over the ARU?
They are slowly but surely seeing the ARU disintegrate in front of their very eyes. It should be a time for calm heads, with World rugby chairing a meeting of the stakeholders in this unfolding drama, including the Western Force, to bash out a solution which does not keep the legal fraternity in caviar
The ARU are proving they're inept at finding a solution, and are causing massive ramifications for the rugby public in Australia.
