Does anyone else think there may be a case for putting Beale at FB and moving Folau to the wing?

Although as a Tahs fan I'm loath to see him moved from FB, he was pretty effective for the Wallabies on the Wing, and he's more suited to the position than either McCabe or Horne (who are effectively carbon copies of eachother).

I highly doubt it.

I think Beale is most likely to be on the bench, second most likely to be at 10 and third most likely to be at 12.

Beale at fullback with Folau on the wing would be the 40-1 donkey that leads early and finishes dead last by half the finishing straight.

Yeah, I imagine that's what will happen... I was just wondering if there was any way they could get him and Folau both in the game without compromising our defence. If Beale were a master of the high ball there'd be a better case for it, but I accept it'd be an unnecessary gamble.

The thought never crossed my mind as I was always thinking Falou now has a Mortgage on the 15. But that actually is a pretty good idea, although I would admit Beale's lack of ability under the high ball, a tactic which is often used successfully by the AB's would be KB (Kurtley Beale)'s biggest downfall. KB (Kurtley Beale) just has too many key weaknesses that the AB's can and will exploit.

I could definitely see it as an often though for Argentina.

That's just fucking great. Peyper will strangle the game to death and penalise everything.

On top of that, any League spectators that turn up to the game after watching the Super 15 final will be asking for a refund..

Hopefully we are all wrong..

I reckon the duelling nations should collectively select the officials rather than the IRB, with constraints of course..

Tahdan Beale has actually looked good under the high ball lately. The problem is that the ABs showed last year they are very happy to see Folau play on only one side of the field. They know where he is and they double team him the whole game. However, if Speight were playing I think the Wallabies would be so much stronger simply because of all the attention Folau gets. Speight would have a field day. And if Beale were out there too it would be a very dangerous backline. Folau 11, Speight 14, Beale 15. Could other teams afford to double team folau's side if the field with those guys out there. Also Beale and Folau already share the fullback role at the tahs to some degree.

Back tracking a little, but I would've thought that ringing up a heap of players from your best performing Super Rugby team into your test team as a path to victory has been well and truly debunked. Particularly as, shown again and again, Super Rugby form doesn't necessarily translate to the Test arena.

If Super Rugby form did directly translate, Super Rugby donkeys like Nonu and Dagg from the past few seasons would be out cold, instead they terrorised international teams, including us.

Case in point: how much of the 2011 Wallabies were dominated by Reds, or the 2012 and 2013 all-conquering All Blacks dominated by the Chiefs?

Fuck you put Folau on a wing and half the playing field is gone from him. At least at 15 he has options of running left or right.

The bloke is great at 15 - why would someone even think of tinkering

I actually really like Beale coming on as the super sub - he is champing at the bit and always looking to make a point by carving up in broken play. I'd rather 15 - 30 minutes of concentrated brilliance from him looking to make the yards and score points.

2011 Wallabies were certainly far more Reds heavy. Genia, Cooper, Ant Fainga'a, Horwill, Samo, Ioane, Slipper off the bench, Higginbotham, Simmons both starting and off the bench, Saia Fainga'a off the bench at times.

There were probably 7 or 8 Reds in the average 22.

Scrubber it don't they should move Folau, but when Speight becomes available it would create an almost equal threat on both sides of the field and Beale is not much of a threat sitting on the bench. And when he comes on he replaces Foley so you lose a good player to get a good player.
