Bring it on you big cats!

OUR wallabies are a united team and we don't lose these kind of games, ever.

Oh..and watch out for Issy :)

I thought Muggleton's article was him positioning for a Wods job again, they could do worse.

As for the current lot of support staff, they ain't got much to work with frankly.

Add Nau, Hanson, Horwill, Higgers, Palu & Pocock to the forward mix and you start to add "starch"

Muggleton would represent an improvement over Scrivener, surely. The latter's had well over a year with the Wallabies. Look at the results. I am no fan of R Graham, but it's incontestable that he did an excellent job right through 2013 as de facto Reds defence coach. Defensive skills and formation are perhaps one of most 'coachable' skills in rugby. Just needs someone who knows the subject matter in depth and can teach it in a manner that sticks in play.

Re the 'fatalistic Wallaby cattle that can't be improved' paradigm of thought line, I don't buy that - the vast majority of half-decent or better elite players can be improved with the right teachers, right knowledge and man management methods. Jake White credited Smith with making significant improvements in the finer points of the Brumbies defence in relatively short periods. P Blake improved Wallaby defence (after a long period of gradual decline) markedly in 2010-11.

Re the 'things will improve when all our injured players come back' argument, that was I'm afraid the wide refrain last year when more Wallaby mediocrity was excused and explained through injury absences - and what's happened when many of those players have come back this year?

Woohoooooo.....another game we won because of the ref.All those All Blacks ref trainings that Hansen and Co. have put the IRB thru are starting to truly pay off....

they were going to win it anyway

but i mean, why the fuck kick a player for nothing?
all blacks seemed really tired but still they did a good match, i really enjoyed it

in 15vs15 all blacks could only do a try

As Muggleton said, our transition to defence is rubbish, Deans hid it by limiting width and limiting turnovers by keep the ball close to the pigs, but when we moved to a more "entertaining brand of football" our lack of effort and accuracy in clean outs is leading to turnovers wider out, and then the shit happens.

A defensive backs leader is not the key problem, they may shut down a play every so often, but our problem is the transition not set piece or "set" defence

It's not the key problem but it certainly helps.
Anyone's who's seen a team with Ant Fainga'a in the backline know's exactly who is marking whom, even from 40 rows back at Suncorp.

It requires the whole team to be focussed on realignment and and transition, but having one player out there who specialises in doing that is not a bad idea.

Weird that you would drop the world's best halfback three games into your tenure. Does McKenzie know what he's doing? What would be the reaction if Deans had pulled a stunt like this?

Just watching the first half vs the Boks again now. The standout worst performer is Mowen, he really is ineffectual.

Pretty much just watching Cooper try and stop that first try (Fardy on the other side helps but Mowen does nothing), and then after Cummins great tackle in Kirchener he gives away an obvious penalty for hands in the ruck.

He needs to step up a lot, or he too should be benched.

I haven't read that article, but it's some very interesting food for thought. It always amazes me how much more about rugby those guys understand, than I do.

But for whom? Out of the current options, it could only be Shatz or McCalman. Ben has tried before, and Jake isn't ready to be a starter.

Scotty you really are on an anti Mowen crusade. I'll admit his best position is not 8, but he really has not been as bad as you attempt to make out. His line out work and leadership alone merits his spot in the starting side.

If you really think he has been so bad, give some more specific examples, not 'he didn't do anything'.
