would have been a different look if the Under 20's were included

Kalani Thomas, Lucas Ripley, Mac Grealy might have been handy looking towards next year and future world cups.

Only genuine chance I see for a World Cup bolter would be Ripley. The other guys would need monumental u20/AusA/superrugby2023 seasons to even come into the equation and unseat the other sure thing candidates.

be happy for a few others in the 20's to be used at Aust A level as well.
these are big squads and the current 20's will be prime in 5 years for the next world cup in Aust 2027.
Reece Hodge will be lucky to make it France next year and Quade Cooper is a short term prospect as well along with JOC (James O'Connor) and a few others.

yep, both very justified those selections. Would be fine with either of those 10s. I do get the feeling they'll give Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) the most game time to bring him along. Muirhead would have a fairly strong case over Daugunu to be honest.

Personally I am a little surprised by Strachan's selection. I barely see him as Super Rugby quality.
Nah i noticed strachan In games this year as he has come along well this season and had some good games. Did not pick him but I think good choice as we certainly need fullback depth. And yes last season I certainly did not rate him!

So no To'omua which thought strange given improvement and Rennie may want to look at him. Wilkins I think unlucky as very good this year but backrow depth makes it tricky.

Tuttle would have been my pick for 9 so not sure why not picked…injury?

Uelesse and wright other notable omissions.

Pulu not getting a gig another notable omission. I also would have liked a look at RVW but good langi got a gig.

But I also think some good choices there as well.

I kinda like the idea of looking at Stewart at 13 to see what he looks like there. Hodge we have seen at 13 (and every other backline position bar 9). Not saying right option to put Stewart at 13 but just curious how he might perform there and given lack of other options/ specialist 13.
