I doubt it is that much

Don't know who told you that TOCC, but Adidas is about $20 mill a year already, and this apparently is shy of that, they reckon the next biggest sponsorship in world rugby.$20 million/year would make it the largest sporting sponsorship in Australiasia by nearly $15million.

I've heard that the All Blacks are the 5th most recognisable sporting brand in the globe and the most succesful sporting franchise ever. Given that rugby is an Olympic sport in 2015, seems like an astute sponsorship deal for AIG. And given that sponsorship is an integral part of modern day professional sport, if the $20m amount is true, then good on NZ rugby.
If The Darkness is #5 most recognisable sporting brand, what are the top 4?
According to Forbes.com, these are the top 10 Sports Brand Values in the Team Category (as opposed to Athlete, event, or business)

1. Manchester United
2. Real Madrid
3. Bayern Munich
4. NY Yankees
5. Arsenal
6. AC Milan
7. Dallas Cowboys
8. Barcelona
9. Boston Red Sox
10. Washington Redskins
Of course ....Except they can't wear sponsored gear at he Olympics.
They'll just be the NZ Sevens Team.
Didn't AIG sponsor Manchester United some time ago? Can someone please put up a soccer shirt with AIG featured on it.
PS. Got down to your post, Ant, after replying to FSS's earlier one, not trying to steal your thunder.
