If Addidas is paying more, why would they be okay with losing the dominant position? Do they get other stuff too?

Adidas negotiated a 10 year contract starting 2009... Might have been an oversight on their behalf, NZRU probably figure they have 7 more years before they have to worry about repercussions from Addidas

Adidas sponsorship isn't exclusively all blacks, they are also jersey and minor sponsor of all 5 superugby teams, sevens, Maori, women's, if there paying 20 millionish all up then probably only 10 million or less for the All Blacks themselves. In terms AIG is probably paying much more for the dominant position.

Phew, thought you had done a Darth Vader on us there for a minute.

waratahjesus, you can pick and choose your friends, but you are stuck with family forever.

Just be wary of any attempted foul influence coming from that Darkness element in your family.

It is right that you have warned us, and we will monitor your posts and be ready to organise a quick intervention, if we start to see signs of you straying to the Dark Side.

For crying in a bucket the game needs sponsorship to survive, let alone grow. The NZ economy is not exactly booming and all other revenue streams have been milked.

Three letters on a rugby jersey and half a country is crying in their beer.

Seriously. Get a grip.

There are more important things to get worked up about.

I even see some journos in Kiwi land argue that the NZRU should have cut costs instead of getting more revenue. What, cut the ITM Cup perhaps? Stop the development programs? Pay the pros less?

Cloud fucking cuckooland.

What other pro team sport except the American leagues (and there is good reason that they don't need to) can afford to not plonk logos on their kit?

In Australia AIG changed its naem to Chartis.

Should the ABs have an alternate jersey with Chartis on it when playing in Australia to maximise the marketing potential?

Careful about hanging too much sh!t on the American Taxpayer and what they sponsor.

The American taxpayer has sponsored World Peace (at least the absence of major power hostilities) for the last 67 years. Admittedly they turned up to the last War Toys Convention a little late, but they won the prize for the Best Stand at the Convention hands down.

But for the Septics and their ability to throw money around, there are parts of the world that would probably be speaking in a different tongue now.
