All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

Well, it's physical at least. I did enjoy the AB's attack from 35:45-36:45. Much more Blues killdozer-y. Though it did peter out towards the end which was shameful as it was only ~1 minute's worth of effort. Get Stern Vern in to instill some discipline into this soft southron mob.

Will Jordan you absolute simpleton. It's somewhere in the range of ~13 vs 2. What the actual fuck were you thinking was going to happen off that quick throw? You have sullied the fullback name for too long. Back to the wing with you where you belong.

Some lazy returns from the entire forward pack though.

Well watched test for second week in a row in pub here in Wales, loved it. That was a bloody good win. And noticed the IRU must of been making a point, only played half the NZ anthem.

Well that game had a bit to unpack. I'm not sure that was the best game from either team tonight.

I thought Ireland got away with a bit at the breakdown which Berry let go. Some of the entries and slowness to clear out should have been punished earlier and more consistently by him to clean that up.

Also, that early use it call from Berry to Gibson-Park.. and then he calls two an eternity later was just poor. If we're going to implement these rules, then throw the arm up and let the 9's know they don't have the luxury of their big caterpillars anymore unless they're quick. I don't like the inconsistency.

As for the ABs, Ratima I have question marks over. His step and pass must make AB fans cringe after the service they use to get from Smith. He made it rather easy for the Irish to pick out his target on a number of occasions and I wasn't overly impressed by him in this game.

Jordon likewise I'm also somewhat unimpressed by. He has lots of positive attributes and that ariel contest with Hansen was one of his better moments, but he just seems to lack some rugby smarts and some of his positioning is frankly poor. His kicks were all pretty bad with that later one to Lowe being a shocker. Head to head Lowe had a much better game.

Where the ABs are starting to look great again is up front. Some players continue to stand up and I'm really loving the balance of the bench and what it brings now. I'm such a Tuipulotu fan and being able to bring someone like Tu’ungafasi on to attack the scrums is nice.

As for the Irish, it was such an unusually error filled performance from them. Gibson-Park was great and the team had some moments, but the bench in particular really wasn't what they needed. Frawley had a mare of a game and will want to forget that one, Henderson likewise wasn't great. I'd have to go back and look at the stats but it felt like I was seeing more dropped balls than I have in a long time for the Irish, which in part is a credit to the AB's.

Overall an enjoyable enough game, but definitely not a classic like that RWC encounter.

We dominated the last 30 minutes once Jordie came back and Roigard on

Very pleased with the pack the ABs are putting together

Rieko had a fine game to back up leading the haka

Aumua has come of age over the last 7 days.

Work to be done but very pleased

On attack World #1 Ireland really are some paint-by-numbers dogshit dull rugby.

Ratima was oddly hesitant and getting shit protection but Roigard fixed everything

Aki not wearing a gom god. No wonder half his teeth are gone.

Will Jordan looks at himself on the big screen = everyone drinks.

What’s that? Big bad number 1 in the world Ireland couldn’t even beat widdle ol’ NZ at Ireland’s own fortress? 10 point loss you say? Even though over half your backline you’ve poached from other countries?

veerrrry satisfying, well done NZ. Paying $3 to win as well, the disrespect.

Also don’t even think NZ played that well. Jordan had a terrible game which should have been punished way more, if he didn’t fuck it so many times the margin would’ve been way bigger.

"Paying $3 to win as well, the disrespect."
And paying $4.5 to win at HT and FT, and giving the ABs 7.5 pts head start (with 2.5 pts HT)....sometimes the bookies AI just gets it wrong.

If they can’t roll through the forwards they really struggle. Both teams were rusty and clearly nervous in shit conditions but NZ just outworked and out-accuracied Ireland through the middle by 1%. There were only a few occasions when Ireland looked like the mad max big rig they typically are and they couldn’t convert.

Same reason the All Blacks won in the Rwc. Ireland need another lever to pull when the pressure is really on. It’s different when NZ are in a rebuild year in a three test series and they aren’t used to having to try.
