I don't mean to be negative abut everything, but watching this, it is pretty clear where our development systems stand at present.

Nearly every one of these guys runs and carries like they're still the biggest kid on the field back at school. This shows where schools rugby is as well by proxy.

Our forward pack got physically dominated with the one-out rubbish. After that, it's shovel shovel shovel into a lateral backline who think that hoppy-steppy hair flicks / offloads in contact / kicks through were the answer.

A better team are going to put 40 on us.

The #7 was quite good, tho.

Yes - TMO tried to influence the ref on that call, and she wanted very little of it - she initially said nothing wrong, and he kept showing her replays.

Will Goddard has got the call up and is supposedly on his way to Sth Africa. Left Year 12 at Knox last year and has been playing 1st Grade Tight Head for Eastwood this season. Hopefully he can steady the scrum.

The no.7 from WA is a beast, Dane Sawers. The kid is fearless.

Just goes to show the step up in physicality with 3 of those boys injured without playing a full game - and sadly for Sharples, going out in training, which must be heartbreaking.

Was the Di Staso injury carried with him into the tournament, as he looked to be playing injured from the get go - unless another casualty in training.

Was Barret the LH who started? He was getting served up in the scrum. His replacement was excellent. Ref allowed the Georgians to be metres offside for 3/4 of the game and thats why their ‘line’ speed looked so good early.
Looked as though the props leg collapsed just above the ankle when he went down. Hope he is OK and recovers quickly.
We needed to be more direct early. We tried to go wide from the start and then ended up kicking the pill aimlessly away early.
Second half was much better and the contested kicks on point. Appears to be a good young side. Cannot get dragged into a slug fest with bigger packs.

It is surprising that Barrett struggled so much - he is supposed to be one of the forwards of the future.

We do need some more power in the back row - the front 5 did a lot of work hitting up, and #7 did the lion's share of the back row workload.

I'm intrigued JB. Is it possible to "be more direct early" while at the same time not "get dragged into a slug fest with bigger packs". If this year is anything like last year, every other pack will be bigger than ours.

Sawers at No 7 was in everything and must have been in the running for MOTM. The No 6 didn't seem to do much in close but played like another centre out in the backs. He is an excellent ball runner but the two centres had good games so maybe he's a bit of a luxury out there. All the wingers looked good with Leahy and Staniforth each getting a pair of tries.
