I have confidence in Beale, he took the Tahs to a grand final and he has displayed good form in 2012 for the Rebels at 5/8..

I think his attributes may suit the other backline members better then Quades did.

I have put my easy earned money on the Wallabies. I think Coopers comments have had the opposite affect to what people think. The Wallabies have been flying under the radar for the best part of 10 days thanks to Cooper and I think his comments will have them fired up. The chip kicks at altitude won't be chip kicks, but tactical mid field bombs which will give us good field position.

vs Heyneke Meyer under huge pressure and in his first home test in Pretoria, soon after losing two games they should really have won? The knives are out. He has to get the win.

I don't often feel confident about victory but I have to suggest that it will be a superhuman effort if the Wallabies get up.

The Boks are going to come hammer and thong and probably kick 80% + goals.

Can the Wallabies find a way to outfox the Boks defense, which has been rather miserly? It will be massive if they do.

Interesting point, what do you see the difference is?

If Beale can shelve the short kicking game, just put it away completely. There have been plenty of quality 1st 5 performances that have not included chip kicks or outside the boot ones. I'm not suggesting taking away his attacking flair, far from it, but given his last few tests has seen an extreme over use of it by Beale and co, it would be a positive step forward for OZ to have Beale set the tone.

Attributes may have been the incorrect terminology, maybe i should have phrased it as a 'style of play he is familiar with'...

Its my opinion that the Rebels play a closer style to the Wallabies then the Reds do, also with Phipps in the back-line as well it could enforce this further.
People talk about the players around Quade needing to come familiar with his style of play and his unpredictability, Kurtley plays a more traditional 5/8 role.

Double late blow for Boks

2012-09-28 13:03

Cape Town - The Springboks have suffered a double late blow ahead of their Test against Australia at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:00.

Centre Frans Steyn and prop Coenie Oosthuizen have both been ruled out of the Boks' penultimate Rugby Championship match.

Steyn will be replaced by the Lions' Jaco Taute. Taute will start at outside centre with skipper Jean de Villiers moving to No 12, while Juan de Jongh comes onto the bench.

Pat Cilliers will replace Oosthuizen on the bench.

HAVE YOUR SAY: Do these late changes swing the favourites' tag the way of the Wallabies? Or do you still see the Boks winning? Send your thoughts to Sport24.

Teams:

South Africa:

Steyn's Ankle has not yet fully recovered so Taute shifts to outside centre and De Jong gets a spot on the wood. Coenie is not 100% match fit so he is replaced by Ciliiers, but both should be ready to play next week vs the darkness.

I agree sadly. Last game vs Argentina was pretty sloppy and lacked heart and intensity. Sure they got up in the end when they realised the win was on the cards, but you can't play hot and cold rugby like that at home vs Bokke. My heart says we will win but my head says we'll get done in a very convincing manner.

As usual absolute shit by Deans concerning Beale. If he wasn't fit, why pick him in any game? Why reward lack of hard work? Players who are fat fucks should be disciplined (other than those who are injured etc).

I hope Beale has a blinder though and I really hope he has regained his 2010 fitness because I believe that was the last time he was truly fit.

^^^^ adopting the QC (Quade Cooper) defence (that seems to be the way to do things nowdays, blame someone else), it is Blue's fault. I didn't type "Hammer and Thongs".:)

Beale has never been the same as he was in 2010. Funnily enough thats the year he surrounded himself with family, got his sh*t together, slimmed down and aimed up. I dont know why he decided to move south (maybe there were actually 600,000 reasons) but anyone with half a brain could see it wasn't going to end well.

I guess we will find out tonight. I don't expect flawless brilliance, a good solid perfomance will do me for now considering we are throwing him in the deep end.

Well, it's not the first time for him.Link threw him at the deep end in his debut year with the Tahs.
He was just short of winning the comp for them. That's got to be a good indicator?

Lambie and Jantjies on the bench was that expected?
Definitely.

Lambie can cover 10,12,15
Jantjes 10
Juan DJ 11,12,13,14

Good balance - can bring diff guy on for same position depending on situation.

I think Beale is there out of last resort that resulted in minimal reshuffle. Would we really want Harris in the starting line-up
