I just can't forgive horne for bombing that try against Wales...sums him up perfectly really..on the note of Phipps being a little dick. I noticed this year that out of all the franchises starting half back only genia and McKibbon seem to avoid getting involved in the niggle. Even white doesn't seem to mind it.

Every member of our backline have bombed numerous tries during their test careers. Many more simple than the one Horne didn't score in the first test.

People need to move on from that incident.

Nah McKibbin should've been in there over Phipps. He has had a pretty solid season.

I really don't mind McKibbon at all I think he is consistent and he doesn't shy away like most halves from contact plus his goal kicking is top notch. Would be one of the only waratahs inwould have understood being selected

I was at the last Brumbies game against the Blues and was pretty close to the field down by the Brumbies try-line (having complete confidence that the Blues would spoil the Brumbies season and score some tries :) )

The stadium was fairly empty so we were able to move at half-time to the other end and it was pretty interesting (and for some reason it was hilarious at the time) to hear White and Mowen have a little go at each other while they were waiting under their sticks for a penalty kick late in the game. Yep.....seems pretty hot-headed that Nic White.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed it but Nick Phipps has been evolving into a nasty little so and so. Someone should pull him aside and tell him there is a reason no one really likes Brett Sheehan.

Sure you aren't talking about Nic White. He seems to have got angrier as the year progressed!

Nah Phipps has hady a few little tantys lately along with a fair bit of unwarranted niggle. He needs to pull his head in and focus on his game.

My gut feeling this weekend is Barnes and Genia will be ordered to do a lot of kicking. And Its the wrong team to give the ball back to at any position on the Field. And with there line out and scrums being so rock solid the ball is best kept in our possession.
I really hope to see ball in hand and good forward Phases.Get some C@&! back in this team and bash these Blokes.... And win lose i would be Happy...

The fever pitch of negativity around this team is pretty impressive, especially when it really only comes down to two selections: Barnes over Cooper, and then Timani over, well, anyone by the looks.

It seems to me that the Wobs are looking for more physicality and toughness in defence - Sharpie said as much in our podcast. Looks like Totality Tony is looking to put some Munster in us, and I don't think we'd be unhappy about that would we? Do we really think we're going to beat NZ 6 tries to 5? (most likely trying that it would wind up 2 tries to 6)

I think this is an attitude re-adjustment that we Australian rugby supporters need - from howling about exaggerated memories of attacking champagne rugby to being first and foremost concerned about being able to muscle up to test match rugby against the best.

I reckon the controversial selections are in this vein. Yes, there are questions to be answered, but so would there be if you stuck Cooper and Pyle/Simmons whoever else in there.

I'm interested to see how this goes before I completely lose my shit.

If we adopt a kicking-the-air-out-of-the-ball strategy against these guys the result will be a shellacking. The All Blacks love nothing more than running the ball back and counter attacking. That defensive blanket on the kick chase will have to be awfully good to contain them.

Even if we win with that strategy, I'd rather scratch my eyes out than watch it.

As does provincial justification for an inane selection.

Come off it.

Jiggles said he was only hyped and selected because he plays for the Waratahs. Where are all the Waratahs fans saying he should have been selected? Fatprop was trying to explain why Timani might have been selected, not claiming that he should have been. But then you've refused to grasp that so far, so why start now?

Gagger - yes we need to muscle up - BUT we also need to be able to play good, if not great, Rugby and I dont see us getting that with Timani. He concerns me because he can go missing in the BIG games requiring physicality where you not only give it but receive it as well. I will be trying to watch the game with a critical 'eye' and give credit where it is earned! I sincerely hope that I will not be cringing at the final score.

If your gut feeling is correct and Barnes boots away and Genia box kicks at every opportunity, I stand with TBH on this - The Wallabies will be slaughtered so badly that the resulting cull might get them a place on the UN endangered species list.

Can I suggest that if the worst happens, we all take a deep breath and count to infinity before taking our anger out on the forums.

Prior posting preparation prevents piss-poor performance lifetime bans. ;)

Ah, good advice to all for the duration of the game; put the plastic cover on your lounge chair and a plexiglass screen in front of your TV. Drink out of plastic cups and keep the kids out of arms length. :D

My goodness, it would appear we are nearly all united in our belief that this could be a very bad weekend. Is this the most pessimistic the GAGR members have been prior to an international tournament?

Fortunately for me Daz, I won't be watching the game live. I'll be at a birthday party and thus won't kill the vibe by screaming abuse at the TV.
