I got it wrong, the Brutes won by a point after Naas missed the last conversation. Sorry Blou.
WP lost his first one and the Guppies now top of the log. Bismarck and Kankowski was huge in this one. I'd be surprise if both dont figure against the Wallabies.
Not many take ypour Battleship back in a tackle, Duanne did this on the weekend. For some reason I expect Spies to put in a big one on the weekend against the Wallabies.Yeah well Spies has lost his mojo but you and I both know Duane Vermeulen is the man.
Boks discards Flo and Muskiet will play for WP on friday against the Tin Ears. I have my tickets to watch this one.
Western Province team:
Conrad Jantjes, Gio Aplon, Tim Whitehead, Paul Bosch, Frikkie Welsh, Willem de Waal, Dewaldt Duvenage, Duane Vermeulen, Nick Koster, Francois Louw, Anton van Zyl (captain), Adriaan Fondse, Brok Harris, Tiaan Liebenberg , Wicus Blaauw.
Replacements: Deon Fourie, Buhle Mxunyelwa, JD Moller, De Kock Steenkamp, Pieter Myburgh, Conrad Hoffmann, Lionel Cronje.
Pretty sure WP have a better bench then the Bokke.
Why no battleship vs the Wallabies?

The Barloworld Toyota Pumas on Friday achieved their second victory in this season’s Absa Currie Cup after they secured a 22-21 victory over the Vodacom Blue Bulls at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
The defeat for the defending champions was their fourth loss of the 2010 competition and ensured that they ended the weekend in fourth position on the log with 24 points.
The Vodacom Blue Bulls were overtaken on the Absa Currie Cup log by the Vodacom Free State Cheetahs who handed Vodacom Western Province their first home defeat of the season during their 29-24 victory at Newlands on Friday evening.
The Bloemfontein outfit and the defending champions are both on 24 points. However the Free State side’s superior points differential (+25) over their Pretoria counterparts ensured that they ended week eight in third place.
Vodacom WP flyhalf Willem de Waal (115) who added nine points for the Cape side is still the leading points’ scorer in this season’s competition. He is however only two points clear of The Sharks flyhalf Patrick Lambie who is on 113.
The Cape side still currently occupies second place on the log, but their second defeat in the 2010 Absa Currie Cup has meant that they are now seven points behind the log-leading The Sharks who secured their seventh consecutive win in competition following their 48-30 victory over the GWK Griquas on Friday.
The defeat for the Kimberley side in Durban relegated them to fifth position on the 2010 Absa Currie Cup standings. They are on 23 points, but only five points behind the second positioned Vodacom WP.

Brache enters the Lions den
UCT star Marcel Brache has been called up to the WP bench for Friday night's Currie Cup encounter with the Lions in Johannesburg - capping a fairytale rise for the former Internal League star.
Last year this time, Brache was playing in UCT's Steinhoff Internal League for the Tornadoes - until he was spotted by Ikeys head coach John Dobson who thought he had something special.
Brache was invited to train with the Ikey Tigers Varsity Cup squad and, after impressing in a pre-season friendly against the Stormers, was handed a start in UCT's Varsity Cup opener against Shimlas.
To steal a well-used cliché, the rest - as they say - is history, with Brache featuring in every one of UCT's matches during the 2010 Varsity Cup; his elusive running, deadly defence and long-range goalkicking helping his team into the final where they went down to the Maties.
Since then, he has been training with WP - and also playing for UCT - even earning a first provincial start in a pre-season friendly against the Griffons in July.
Now, however, the talented outside back is on the verge of what would be a stunning Currie Cup debut - yet another feather in the cap of the Varsity Cup AND the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championship.
When contacted by varsitycup.co.za this week, a clearly elated Brache said: "When my name was read out my jaw literally hit the ground!
"It's been a boyhood dream of mine [to play for WP]... Just to be in the 22 is an honour - even if I don't play."
The former Rondebosch Boys' High School pupil (who mostly played second team rugby at school - with cricket his preferred choice) played at outside centre during the Varsity Cup - with the odd game at fullback - and even turned out on the wing during the initial stages of the 2010 WP Super League for the Ikeys.
Western Province seem to rate him as a wing or fullback option, but his presence on the bench - alongside that of fellow utility, Maties ace Conrad Hoffmann - gives the Capetonians plenty of options from the pine against the resurgent Lions.
Brache and Hoffmann are amongst five Varsity Cup players on the WP bench (joining Callie Visagie, Buhle Mxunyelwa and De Kock Steenkamp), with starting backs JJ Engelbrecht, Tim Whitehead and Paul Bosch also products of this exciting tournament.
The Western Province team: 15 Conrad Jantjes, 14 JJ Engelbrecht, 13 Tim Whitehead, 12 Paul Bosch, 11 Frikkie Welsh, 10 Willem de Waal, 9 Dewaldt Duvenage, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Nick Köster, 6 Francois Louw, 5 Anton van Zyl (captain), 4 Adriaan Fondse, 3 Brok Harris, 2 Deon Fourie, 1 JD Moller.
Replacements: 16 Callie Visagie, 17 Wicus Blaauw, 18 Buhle Mxunyelwa, 19 De Kock Steenkamp, 20 Pieter Myburgh, 21 Conrad Hoffmann, 22 Marcel Brache.
Kick-off: 7.10pm
Not a good day in the office for the Wee Pees. Lions come from behind to comprehensivly beat Province. Elton Jantjies again with a great game and MOM performance. Lambie and Jantjies both are special talents for the future, and I hope they go on the EOYT with the Boks to play for the Dirt Trackers.
