Well, Easts won't get to defend their title, going down 22-10 to Brothers at Ballymore. Brothers really only got away from Easts at the end but I can't see them getting up over Souths on that performance.

Easts really took it to the Brothers forwards, and if it wasn't for a rare off day from Andrew Walker might have got up. McKibben strong for the winners and the Murphy brothers quite elusive. Crofty also a big plus at this level.

Be a good game next week.

A couple of match previews ahead of this weekend's grand final. (Hope this works)

Brothers look to be the favourites but I might stick with Souths, particularly if Quade Cooper plays. Good to see that he is committed enough to get an early flight back from Wellington to play for his club. Hopefully thats a pointer towards some greater maturity and committment.

Should be a cracker of a game and a good day out at Ballymore.

Brothers 26-19. Well done the filth!

After the disappointment of last night it was good to watch a game featuring two committed and passionate teams. Donelly the lightweight winger was outstanding and scored a double. Souths were the superior scrum but Brothers got the points at the brakdown. Big games from Croft and Shaw. Mckibben also strong and controlled things well. Cooper was superb on a losing team and scored a brilliant individual try.

Nasty crowd brawl towards the end which was disappointing but well done Brothers, Crosby Park will be going off tonight.
