Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

Sorry to offend your australian sensitivities so easily Athilnaur, how would you like me to refer to your beloved team in a short hand phrase? :) (I would claim typo but its a tall order given the relative position of the a and o keys.) Does this mean you have no answer to the questions raised?

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

There seems to be a lot of optimism about the Wobs here (not surprisingly) but where do you think the Wobs have an advantage over the boks at the moment? Not in set piece, fielding high ball, effective kicking from hand, giving away penalties (depending on whatever the ref had for lunch of...

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

Depends a bit on selection doesn't it? ABs would be thrilled to play that front row again! (lets face it who wouldn't!). The way the WBs forwards struggled I can't see how QC (Quade Cooper) would have made any difference in fact its exactly the sort of game plan he struggles most against I would have thought.

    Cheerio Deans

Peter Fitzsimons had some interesting comments on the Deans legacy in the SMH today. The one point that stood out to me though was that there has never been a wbs coach who has worked harder and closer with community rugby. Could that have been such a part of his continued support from the...

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

In reply of course, "no RWC has been won by a team that has lost a pool game".

SupeRugby Final 2011: Queensland Reds V Canterbury Crusaders

I think the refs 'appear' to have a greater influence over recent games due to the athletic and skills capability of most teams being so much more even after 15 years of pro-rugby. The refs decisions are therefore haveing a greater proprtional impact on the results than 15 yrs ago. The only...

What will lose the RWC for the Wallabies?

I would have thought other than being outplayed on the day that injuries to one or two key players would be the biggest risk. Front row, 9 and 10 would be the obvious places I would have thought.

    Crusaders v Sharks - 2011R06

I try not to be too hard on refs if only because its a job I wouldn't ever want to take on. I was at the game and was rather dissaopinted with Steve Walsh. Missed a lot of knock ons and forward passes. Franks was binding on Smits arm on sharks put in but not called by walsh. At no time was...
