NRC Final - Western Force v Canberra Vikings - UWA Sports Park - Saturday, 26 Oct - Noon (WST)

No Swain, McInerney, Valetini or Pulu. I foresee the Vikings getting reamed in the set piece and not having the strength at the breakdown, tackle busting or finishing to make up for it. This honestly should be a fairly comfortable win for the Force.

    Wallabies 2020

Hodge? If Simone replicates his form from the second half of this year, then he'd have to be a strong candidate. If he replicates his form from the first half of this year, it might be better to just break him down for parts.

    Wallabies 2020

Quite frankly I just don't see how we can possibly go past Vern Cotter. What he achieved with Scotland was nothing short of remarkable, and has a few parallels to Australia's situation, given the limited player pool, small number of professional teams, status as a fading/faded rugby power etc...

If there's one modern coach who you'd expect to give it a try, it's the one who just resigned.

NRC Final - Western Force v Canberra Vikings - UWA Sports Park - Saturday, 26 Oct - Noon (WST)

I don't think there's any disputing that the Force is a better organised, better coached side. While the Vikings have a few spectacular performers, they've been let down by team cohesion, particularly at the set piece. If McInerney and Swain are back, it will go a long way to redressing some of...

How about Rudolf Straeuli? He had a better win percentage with the Boks than Cheika did with the Wallabies.

Thorn is still a few years short of being qualified to coach the Reds. He shouldn't even rate a mention as a possible assistant at international level.

    Wallabies 2020

How about "The Coachelor", in which Raelene Castle goes on a series of increasingly awkward dates with a line-up of highly competitive and mildly brain-damaged ex-players a club coaches before eventually giving a visibly annoyed Eddie Jones her 'final waratah'. The series closes as they link...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Step one needs to be a very serious re-think of the kinds of qualifications that make somebody a fit a proper person to sit on the ARU board. The present board is flooded with current and former bankers; people who are in their professional lives free from the obligation to achieve excellence...

    Wallabies 2020

It seems to me that the Wallabies of today are exactly the kind of challenge Jones would relish; a formerly great side at its lowest ebb, sitting outside the top five, but with a tonne of young talent, a recent schoolboys world championship title, and a burgeoning national comp. All with the...

Even a broken clock's right twice a day I suppose.

    Wallabies 2020

Considering that Eddie has said he is considering another tier 2 nation, nominating Germany as a possible option, I would suggest that money isn't actually much of a motivator for him. He's been linked to Fiji as well.

Arnold as an injury replacement for Swain would seem fair as well.

He's got hands like feet too.

NRC SF: Canberra Vikings v Fijian Drua, Sunday 20 October, 3pm AEDT

It's a good thing the Drua's lineout is such a dog's breakfast, because without McInerney and Swain, the Vikings' will be too. I suspect some will be surprised to see Kuenzle benched, but I think it's clear Lolesio has been better. Hansen is unlucky to be benched, but will cause Fiji all...

    Brumbies 2020

Yeah to be fair I think he always played both (still plays league AFAIK). I ran into him after the Brumbies' loss at Lang Park earlier this year. He was decked out head to toe in his Brumbies training gear from his last appearance at the Brisbane 10s. Still clearly loves the Brumbies, and...

    The Residency / Poaching Thing...

If you want to keep eligibility for people who emigrate as children, why not just write it into the regulations? Players who emigrate aged 15 or under aren't subject to a residency rule; 16 - 19 three years' residency and 20 up is, say, six years.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

I can't wait to see a bemused Garces blow the easiest obstruction penalty of his career when they attempt the 'flying V'.
