I feel like this first game must be merely a trial, because there's no way some of those NSW boys are actually sitting on that bench. I mean the vice captain Hwi Sharples has been benched. Hopefully that's a tell we are just hiding our best for the second game on Monday.

He's a great kid. And a really good player. As an aerial threat he's ridiculous, also massive in the line outs. He really needs to put on some size though. Hopefully being in these elite pathways, he'll get the nutritional advice and weights program to get there. Cause he definitely has the...

It would help if we weren’t letting some of our best players rot on the bench… guys like Hwi Sharples, Boston Fakafanua etc. Our juniors usually look great (apart from like 2020 or 21 when we lost to Argentina and then got killed by NZ by like 70), let’s hold on to these ones.

Aden Ekanayake is one of the best stories in schoolboy footy. He was never seen as a potential 1stXV player. He barely snuck in to the team… I believe he even played some of his junior footy in the B’s. As of today he has captained the under 18 Australian 7’s team, and the junior wallabies….

I’m so confused. Does this game not count for anything? It makes no sense that a bunch of our best players are rotting on that bench.

... Where are all the NSW II's boys... I see more QLD II's boys... And they got walloped... Honestly the selectors are blatantly useless and directly contributing to the loss of some of our most talented. What's NSWBB ?

What I've said is the gossip from around North Parramatta.

Penisini's Kings fees were paid for by the eels. Sua'ali'i is a different story. Russell Crowe was paying the family 70k a year to steal him from Penrith to Rabbitohs, not in school fees. Kings dealt with that. And he was at Kings for more than just rugby. NSW athletics, basketball, AFL, touch...

Hopefully there is lots of NSW II's boys represented.

I hope the Shore boys are paying you for all this advertisement.

I think when you are a developmental program you pick all the standouts regardless of position, to keep those standout kids in the game. And I think Le Maitre is a standout.

I feel like more NSW II's boys deserved selection, more brumbies boys and less QLD boys.

At the risk of sounding anything like a certain Shore fanatic on this forum, I am personally disappointed with no Le Maitre (7, Shore). I also feel like other NSW boys that were hard done by were Charlie O'kane (front row, bench NSW 1's), Jono Ryan (6, NSW II's) and Charlie Poynton (wing, NSW...

Big doesn't mean anything when you don't know how to use it. Hopefully something has changed.

Hopefully professional rugby has pushed him A LOT. I still can't believe he signed proffessionally, granted I haven't seen him since he was 18. He must have improved out of sight.

No. Not even a little bit.

It wouldn't be the first time in schoolboy rugby history where a superior player is stuck behind another boy in his position. Got no idea if this case is one of these situations, but it's not uncommon.
