I agree. Thought Barrett was the only front rower for the Tahs who really deserved selection in the front row (considering Finau was injured). Thought Edwards may have squeezed in, but some of those impact players for ACT should feel hard done by.

It Like he did another injury after his ankle ?

U20’s side has 6 Barker 2 Knox 1 Waves Plus Finau if he’s healthy you’d imagine given he’s by far the best hooker in the age group. Better CAS representation there

Also watched Jackson Ropata bomb a certain try, giving in to the white line fever that he is well known for... Unsurprisingly Brumbies were the smarter team. They always are. If you need confirmation of this, go watch round 1 Tahs vs Brumbies. Tahs were winning. Time was up. But instead of...

Well obviously there is an issue if the team that beat the Tahs was made up of many NSW rejects. Whether the issue is coaching (doubt it), selection and talent retention (probably this), or some sort of cultural issue I am not sure. But something isn't working right.

Oniti Finau is one of the best players in this age group at hooker. Just needs a real coach to mentor some of the stupid out of his game. David Telfer, his Eastwood coach, is exactly the opposite of what he needs. Also Cullen Gray was phenomenal although was relatively quiet today, and someone...

No reason for the fullback to commit there. Needed to trust the inside man. We've discussed that this age group is really lacking fundamental skills like catch and pass etc. but I think it's also very evident with the defensive stuff. A lot of tackles not sticking, and a lot of poor reads.

Not sure he would get anything out of it.

If that isn't the Jackson Ropata experience I don't know what is.

As a Tahs fan, I will be rooting for the Brumbies. Firstly, because in the 2 years of this competition, all 3 winners have been a Tahs team. That's boring and not a good reflection of rugby in Australia. Secondly, would love to reply stick it to these Uni/Randwick selectors that seem to always...

NSW just does slightly better than QLD at combatting thugby league. If we actually worked out an objectively successful youth program we wouldn't be getting embarrassed on the world stage. I feel like our junior wallabies are historically more successful than our real wallabies in recent times...

Is this the same Finnegan in the 16's Tahs academy? If so he is a gun.

Convinced Harry Davis has career ruining images of the entire coaching images in his possession. What does he provide? Is he really the best 7 we have to offer? Here's a name. Tom Livingstone (Rats). Think he's had a bad run with injury but he is exceptional. Big body who can carry, pressures...

For me, definite for the squad would be: Firstly, if eligible, obviously Cullen Gray, but not sure what his eligibility is like as a kiwi. He is the best 10 and it's not close. 1. Jack Barrett (NSW) 2. Oniti Finau (NSW) 3. Jackson Stiel (NSW) 4. Arnie Tancred (NSW) 5. Toby MacPherson...

If this isn’t a sign that some of these boys need to be focusing more in class, and less in these forums, then I don’t know what is.

I find it really really hard to believe Poynton doesn't walk into this team, at the very least on a wing.
