    Rugby Championship 2021

It’s funny how these super stadiums can’t handle a scrum but the old suburban grounds hack out 6 games a day no problems. The old Woollahra pitch excluded!

That’s fine, he just ran into him

    Rugby Championship 2021

U12s error from the reserve Arg hooker there. I thought that shit was reserved for us.

How would you like to see NRC/ARC type comp?

I like the concept, but we need a pro comp. A lot of the Shute players for example have jobs. What we need is something that keeps more of our professional rugby players in the system. However, it could be a starting point to build something from. This concept would need to be done in...

    Rugby Championship 2021

Well there’s a lot more Australians and it wasn’t close to full last time we played the Argies there. What are the crowds in NZ like for this fixture?

    Rugby Championship 2021

As UTG mentions it’s pretty cut up and there’s still a lot of footy to come. We’re there next week.

    Rugby Championship 2021

Thanks for clarifying. Still as you say, it’s a school night and maybe not everyone wanted to spend 5 hours at the stadium, plus as I pointed out there’s an NRL final in progress which may be of more interest to many than this game. As long as it’s pretty full for our game I’ll be happy.

    Rugby Championship 2021

I think they’re just spreading it around so Brisbane don’t get all the fun, and preserving Suncorp for the NRL. The 100th test between SAF and ABs is in Townsville

    Rugby Championship 2021

I’m assuming they were ticketed separately. Maybe a lot of Aussies on the Gold Coast didn’t want to pay to watch Kiwis play Argentinians? I’d do both, but I’m pretty die hard. Plus there’s an NRL final in progress.

    Wallabies 2021

I think that's because the Japan players are off season at the moment and back in Oz. European players can only be released during the NH test windows and if they came back would need to do the 2 weeks quarantine.

The thing about him though is he is reliable as a placeholder in the Wallabies. The other players regarded as placeholders eg Banks have been awful and make a net negative contribution at test level.

If you're going to ask that question you also need to ask the same one referencing Noah Lolesio, Tom Banks and Len Ikitau.

The very least the ABs can do is make a tunnel for us to run out through.

Yes, I kind of had similar thoughts myself, that was written before yesterday's presser BTW. Politics would dictate that if there is a lockdown it will be after all the sport has finished tonight and be lifted in time for next weekend's fixtures - 'be seen to be doing the right thing'.

I'm not sure of the point you are trying to make but it reads as though you think that the players who have started the tests are entitled to stay there there because they were selected to start. I don't think anyone is rewriting history, we're all focusing on the now, which is pretty shit...

    Wallabies 2021

My read on it is there is no cap on the number in either the squad or the match day 23, but that it will be used selectively. so yes, it’s pretty grey.

How would you like to see NRC/ARC type comp?

As a variation of that, assuming all the franchises are affiliated with feeder clubs, have matches featuring one or more of those clubs as the curtain raiser. That would bring in the club crowds. E.g. say one of the franchises is Northern Sydney (using the Parra river as the boundary) then the...

Awesome, put one of them at 8 and the other one at fullback.

They had that silly selection panel thing with Michael O’Connor and Johnson, but that seemed to disappear with Cheika. I’m actually not sure what Johnson’s job is these days, he seems to get paid 3/4 of a bar to do fuck all but that’s for another thread.

Yeah, I can see Thorn going for the gig later but he'll want complete autonomy.
