Their grandstand is of minor concern compared to the playing surface

    Waratahs 2025

From what I can gather the rowing thread has been locked so these muppets have decided to continue their already irrelevant discussion here, making it even more irrelevant. No doubt @cyclopath will find out eventually

    Super Rugby General Chat

I’m guessing they just meant Kiwis in general but inflated it by referring to them as All Blacks. Every kiwi I ever met through rugby was an all black triallist anyway

I think that Charlie Cale's most suitable role is #20, and I think it's also an ideal way to introduce him to test rugby v Wales. From there he could evolve into any of the 3 back row positions over time, which one depends on the balance provided by the other 2 backrowers. That said, he's...

I obviously missed that one during my post RWC hiatus

Everyone keeps mentioning koroibete but didn’t he retire from international duty?

You would have to assume that Toole has been told he hasn't been selected, or that the Olympics is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and then they bring him back into the fold. From that list it's probably Pietcsh, but I'm also reliably informed that Marky hasn't been written off yet.

    Waratahs 2025

Yes, that's fair. My comment was based on the assumption that Jed was gone, I rate him highly and hope he's still with us. It was meant more as an endorsement of signing Leota.

Kings HM doesn't, but the 2IC did for a long time, he used to coach the 2nds but doesn't this year. I'm not sure if he has picked up a team in a lower age group. I'd say all Kings teachers are given a coaching responsibility of some sort, but that covers the other sports obviously. I don't...

If Canham & LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) are off to Qld it can only be Leota. Makes sense with Swinton also going. I'm cool with that.

Balancing everything out they are still very similar

With my limited knowledge of Queensland I would say Toowoomba would be a better base if they wanted to set up a pro team outside of Brisbane. There are a couple of rugby playing independent schools and a university, and it’s a good fit geographically, so it’s an easier sell. For similar...

I guess that explains why my perception was different to what was being reported - the big difference is in Qld, I had my blue goggles on.

the app doesn't have individual lineout stats, only team ones. It also doesn't show where the run metres are made, Cale's are mostly out wide whereas Harry's are mostly up the middle, as indicated by Hornet above.

These Cale v Wilson stats are interesting. Probably depends on which is your preference as to which ones you focus on!

    Australian Rugby / RA

I mentioned before that a national U23 comp (as opposed to a uni comp) loosely modelled off the US College football comp was a logical conduit from rep schoolboy level to the 4 super rugby franchises. There are a lot of ifs and buts for sure, including how to fund it and structure it. I'm...

    Aussie Player Exodus

It happens in our comp but mainly because the smaller towns aren't able to field a team for every age group. The bigger clubs will have 2 or even 3 teams entered in each age category.

I had a slightly different iteration of this a few pages back but we are definitely on the same page.

Even the numbers I’m disputing don’t have it as x2, it’s x1.8. You seem to be talking about juniors only and excluding the Sydney and Queensland premier rugby zones for that even, so you’re removing a large proportion of the pool and creating a biased population. I’m talking total participants...
