Were you just bored and trying to get your thread count up?

    Super 14 vs Heineken

Both Holmes and Blake had operations mid season and didnt make it back.

    Pick Rocky at 8

I've said it before (including in this thread), but no. 8 is a specialist position. You cant just pick blokes who have the right skillset and drop them in there. History is littered with failed experimental blindside flankers who are trialled at no.8. Most recently, last season, the ABs tried...

    Pick Rocky at 8

Actually I meant that Palu is in the team for his big hits and line busts not Brown. Brown is there for being busy and a high workrate. I will edit.

    Pick Rocky at 8

Biffo who is the fourth? I take issue with the Willie O point in particular. He wasnt a penalty magnet early in his career and nor did he have a poor workrate. Think 91 RWC for example when he played 6. Later, following a few knee injuries, he became bigger and his workrate dropped. However by...

    Wallaby tactics

The influence of Macqueen's golden era and EJ (Eddie Jones)'s less golden era can't be underestimated. Most of the schoolboy, junior and club coaches have been heavily infected. I know that the teams I played in were all trying to play like the Brumbies in the late nineties and early 2000s. The young guys...

    Wallabies v Baabaas

I think the backline balance is good with the current lineup and bench although, as I mentioned above, I would probably have swapped AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and O'Connor. The reality is that none of Tahu, Cross or Tuqiri demand a place in the team and playing club rugby will do them good. Adding any of them to the...

    Wallaby tactics

...in the world. ie 20 % of the world's best counter attacking players in the last 20 years. Timmy Horan was a very handy counter attacker as well. He was rarely back to field kicks, but when he did he was dangerous. Does anyone remember the last try he scored for Saracens (?) when he was...

    Rocky is DEFINITELY coming home

Noddy you are right. What does the QRU have to say for itself about this? More or less a done deal and then a "difference of opinion" causes him to sign with the Brumbies...someone has done something somewhere.

    Wallabies v Baabaas

Mitchell or Tuqiri is attack v defence. I'm glad Tuqiri wasnt picked but I have no faith in Mitchell's ability to defend or put his carefully styled hairdo on the line. I'd have swapped O'Connor and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Maybe AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) will be told to link up with his two exciting, fast wingers. Lets hope so!

    Wallabies v Baabaas

Is it a coincidence that SBW is being shamelessly paraded to the media and the Barbarians game played in the same week as the SOO or is it a cunning JON plan? I think the latter and I like it.

    Some good news

Pato may have been a good scrummager, but he doesnt have the coaching credentials of Foley whose input will be missed. Hopefully this will work out.

    Pick Rocky at 8

8 is a specialist position. Play Brown there. I agree with whomever said Mumm could be ponderous at 6. Elsom has obviously been in great form up north, but I dont think he is going to come back as the messiah. Consider also that when the NH teams tour here at the end of their season they...

    Wallaby tactics

I disagree. I think its coached out of us. Latham, Hewat, Campo, Roff, Larkham were all brilliant counter attackers. When they first came on the scene, so were players like Gerrard, Mitchell, Turner (still is quite good) and Hynes.

    Wallabies v Baabaas

Thanks Ash, good story and good on SBW. My experience is that if these guys are treated with respect they are generally pretty good.

    Rocky on the way home?

That is too much imo. Better off taking $50-100k of that and giving it to Diggers. It is arguable as to whether he demands a starting spot (no in my opinion) and, even if he does, he is not significantly better than, for example, Mumm. When does Lote's contract expire? That would free up some...

    Áll Blacks 2009

    3. Probably Tialata or maybe Owen Franks. 5. Difficult one. Prob Boric. 8. Rodders is out of form. Maybe Reid. 10. Donald. They are light on here though and another injury could really disrupt their season. 11. Rococoko (switched to this side which is his better side). 14. Any of Kahui, Toeava...

    G&GR gets ARU Media Accreditation!!

Can we have some stories which arent just based on the ARU media release please? Growden is such a lazy, worthless desk jockey its disgusting. Maybe even some stories where there is some research into the player? Sorry, venting my general frustration. I'm in the NH but suspect those tests...

    ARU players pool

Lindommer you have hit the nail on the head there. Of course we could have one very strong super team and 3/4 weak ones. But that wouldnt help the young players at the other provinces who would benefit from the guidance of an experienced Wallaby. Similarly, young players at the strong province...

    ARU players pool

Yes, the market is wonderful and will fix everything. The problem with the market is that emotion plays a large part in it. For example, players clearly fear transferring to QLD and disappearing from national consideration. Players probably fear going to the Force because Mitchell has a...
