    Deviant Behaviour

The more sensible people that post on there the more likely it will be that the noisy ones are heard less. Also, TSF has the benefit of a wider range of views by virtue of there being a few poms, paddies, frogs etc on there. TYS hasnt yet got the diversity (it will come Scarfy, it will come)...

G&GR Wallaby Player of the Year: v Italy

Do you think it was as simple as: "Sharpey, Chis, if you keep playing loose and standing in the centres you can start looking for contracts overseas. If you play tight, you will be in the mix for Wallaby selection." If it was, why didnt Connolly or Jones do it?

    Oz U20 Team

Kiwis played much better field position and dominated the breakdown. Their fullback was impressive as was the Daniel Braid lookalike who must be his brother. In fact, the Black backrow was very good. We never really looked in the game to be honest. Poor decision making was our biggest problem...

    Oz U20 Team

14-7 to Oz early in the 2nd half. Try was scored after good pressure forced a very bad NZ kick and Tapui got a lucky bounce.

Wallabies v Italy Take 2 - changes a bloody plenty

Cyclo I didnt say Smith was going to suddenly turn into a ball running, crash tackling demon, I said he can handle the technical requirements at 8. Read my other post regarding why Smith can and Rocky cant. There is a reason why Rocky only played 8 when Leinster's first choice wasnt there...

    Oz U20 Team

7-7 after 28. You can watch it here PB http://www.irb.com/jwc/video/index.html.

    Pick Rocky at 8

After Smith being picked at 8 and me saying that was ok but that Rocky wouldnt handle 8, I have tried to articulate my reasoning (which, on the face of it, is slightly inconsistent). Anyway, see below what I posted on TSF where they are having a related discussion.

Wallabies v Italy Take 2 - changes a bloody plenty

The boys on TSF are talking about Messam and Read not being able to handle No.8 so I'm not alone in thinking it requires discrete skills and that not all backrowers have those skills. Smith has shown previously he can handle no.8 but I wouldnt want him to be our only no. 8 option. I saw a couple...

    QLD Reds 2010

What has happened to Greg Holmes? It wasnt that long ago he, and Shepherdson, were two young props doing ok for the Wallabies. Now he struggles to make the Reds 1st XV. What is going on up there gents? Who is your scrum coach? Is it Mark Bell? Is it time to get a new one?

    Western Force 2010

Re: Comings and goings at the Force I wasnt having a go at Noddy at all. I particularly enjoyed his joke and my comment is noting his resignation about the whole thing. Contrast with fos where you can imagine the steam coming out his ears as he typed something like that.

Wallabies v Italy Take 2 - changes a bloody plenty

Front row is a worry but both Mumm and Horwill are strong scrummaging locks. Smith will handle no. 8 ok. He is the only non specialist 8 who can handle it. Apart from Cooper, the backline is fairly stable for mine. Last season we were quite happy for Cross and Hynes to be in our 1st XV and...

    2009 Brisbane Club Competition

Even though its disappointing there is no Oz A program this year, I am glad to see squad Wallabies and Oz A players (eg Hardman) playing club footy. It means that club footy is closer to filling the gap that has almost always existed and was left when the ARC was axed. Thanks for the updates lads.

    Western Force 2010

Re: Comings and goings at the Force Said without a trace of bitterness and looking to benefit Australian rugby as a whole. Very selfless.

    Lucky Luke goooooooooooooooooone!

I think there is. Everyone is entitled to their views. Its ironic that LW has become a pariah for being strongly anti racist and rebelling against things that he (and others) view as representing apartheid in South Africa yet when a player is openly racist (eg Justin Harrison) he gets a...

    We have lost rugby skills!

I havent seen much to impress me from the Lions. Boks will smoke them. French result is more a consequence of very weak ABs due to injuries and the endless stream of players heading North.

    Good article on George Smith

Foley was rarely the first pick Oz hooker. Even during the 99 world cup, he only started after Kearns went home injured. Smith is the best openside I have seen (alongside McCaw).

    Wallabies v Italians

Whits made the tackle on Mitchell but the outcome is the same as if he hadnt been there. Burgess' tackle on SBW was a corker. Once a player like that is through the first line of defence they are very hard to stop. SBW wasnt just stopped, he was driven back and, ultimately, it forced a turnover...

Gerrard had the hamstring virus first. He passed it to Tahu and now Tahu has given it to Horne.

We need a definition of a poach

It was right until schoolboys began being signed straight out of school. There is a diffference between "origin" and "poach" anyway. Hewat would rightly qualify for QLD in an origin but its hard to argue NSW poached him.

    Brumbies Provincial Tournament 2009

I know what you are saying fos, but for those who treat rep rugby as the be all and end all find it hard to understand. When I left school I wanted to make the most of my rugby but there were Oz schoolboys in my year who werent interested in progressing their rugby which I didnt understand. It...
