    Brumbies 2017

Apart from being behind the paywall the the Brumbies administration is also the ACTRU (local competitions) etc administration. So moving under the ARU even in part begs the question about the losing the local focus. It is why the key board members (the Clubs) were so critical in the debate...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Go the TOMINATOR! Canberra Vikings' players' player for the National Rugby Championship. Sorry BR - but JJH is going to be your "nemesis" player!!! :p http://www.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-union/canberra-vikings-player-of-the-year-20161014-gs2i5e.html

    Brumbies 2017

Interesting. Odd timing though as I though they would wait to see what a new CEO would want to do. But it appears the puppet (muppet) figurehead CEO will be the go again. If anyone remembers the ticketing debacle of a few years ago (where ticket went out late including after the first game)...

    Brumbies 2017

Brumbies captain Lealiifano, who is in remission, opened up on Friday about his cancer fight to raise awareness for the Light the Night walk, saying he has been overwhelmed by worldwide support and he hopes to make a rugby comeback. Makes you very proud to be a part of the#brumbiesfamily...

Good news on the sponsor front - pre-election as well, but we will have to wait and see about 2018 after the election. Also more from AQUIS! Aquis has also signed on to increase its commitment to community and grassroots programs, including the women's sevens. Brumbies are bloody lucky to...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

What about left field options with quick resolutions etc. Something like an ice hockey power-play type system for penalties in the red zone? So offsides etc would result in a player being ordered to standoff the pitch immediately until the play ends. Multiple players can be stood off. If the...

If your going to try stuff lets go all in on red and gamble! All or nothing I say and if it comes up black it doesn't matter if we loose a little of a lot - we still lose. 15 DHP 14 Sefa 13 Hodge 12 Kerevi 11 Morohan Izzy 10 Cooper 9 Genia 8 Houston 7 Hooper 6 Timani 5 Coleman 4 Arnold 3...

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

Actually, after watching his "return" game to Bath for injury cover, and the reception and support he received from the supporters I would not be surprised if the Wallabies opportunity was a conveniently timed and covert "persuader" to remind him to come home.

    Ideas for NRC

Canberra is well off with Vikings Park as its a pretty good facility for the foreseeable future until you need to step up to Canberra Stadium. Could hold up to 10K, temporary seating can be added easily in addition to the grandstand, facilities are pretty good with TV standard lighting...

TRC 2016: Matches not involving Australia

I have to say game of two halves. The ABs look poor and messy (almost flustered) in the first half but got their act together in the second. I hope that is the last we see of the Bok kicking game stupidity. Yeah, I have a feeling we will get owned!

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Fair point. Ironically it appears to be in the same attitude Cheika; with his less than 60% success ratio with the Wallabies all while the performances are poor, ratings are dropping, support is dwindling and the health of the game is suffering, It is fool's gold to suggest that it would...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Spot on. Its all about lease arrangements as the clubs cant sell the land. Its all a bit like here in the ACT. Nobody technically owns the land; its all leased. You may own all the structure on it and be considered the owner, but in fact the land is leased. I am pretty sure that the MCG and...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Most of the AFL clubs have or do own their own grounds but their are historical reasons why councils are involved - generally as the land was originally gifted under a community benefit justification. It simply comes down to logical cost benefit scenario. Teams play a home and away format...

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Its interesting to contemplate the observation from Iain Payten: there are only six starters from the World Cup final starting this weekend at Twickenham. Most supporters have been calling for change and its been slow and almost forced by injuries etc. There have also been calls to move...

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

I was mainly referring to the big dance with the comment but point taken, we had did win some silverware before the current run of mediocrity. As for the 2 of 4 RWC GF - more chances than most but still nothing to show.
