I think Dragaville would be an outstanding fullback. With you Garden-Bachop; then Issac Thompson or Horan for the last spot

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

But Bill, we are skint and we just need a bit of TV money. I wont piss it away promise! FINE! FUCK YOU BILL! We will just go and buy our own competition! What? What do you mean who is paying to get our "new competition" on TV?

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

I think you summarise this issue very well, but also capture what is wrong with rugby nationally. Fractured, segmented, compartmentalised, self-serving, differing agendas and motives. Look at the language. Its not "the game", but individual parties he names which show a lack of unification...

Tier 3.5 - An Alternative NRC

I totally agree Reg! I don't get the posturing when we (or the ARU) can simply reply with the question of what have you got to offer the game (not Sydney or NSW rugby - the game nationally) to help it financially or improve its sustainability beyond sticking out your hand?

Interesting read about Lolo Fakaosilea: http://www.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-union/brumbies/act-brumbies-recruit-wants-to-fight-cronulla-skipper-paul-gallen-before-super-rugby-dreams-20161019-gs5pdv.html

    Brumbies 2017

I think Bernie has a real focus on controlling the game and "waiting" for opportunities that gets stronger as the season goes on. I have picked it up in his language he uses in press conference and interviews. EG: choosing the right time or moment etc The piece that seems to be missing is...

Either a circle of life thing or the full cycle of a coaching appointment. Either way its a circular argument. I will shut the door behind myself.......

^^^^^note the second stage goes right past the Casino precinct and the proposed new Civic stadium site!;)

    The Wallabies Thread

On first read I would agree with you comment, but after some thought I realised that it may actually be more of a "group" selection thing and a good argument why Wallaby coaches, or the process need to be independent of Super Rugby teams to prevent bad habits or practises influencing other levels of the...

    The Wallabies Thread

Smith didn't perform and doesn't look like he fits in Cheika plans anymore, Speight was coming off an injury and the 7's. Trying to use the "lock rotating door" selections as the centrepiece of your argument (pun not intended) is grasping at straws. DHP was the form "pine rider" and should...

    The Wallabies Thread

How can you say if an adequate number of injuries hadn't of presented themselves for new players to have a crack then decisions may have been made to ensure they did happen? What, Cheika would have dropped players from a winning team and lose the RC to the AB's? Really? Wow! No chance; he...

    Brumbies 2017

The Jootse, 10 and back-line in general was discussed pretty heavily a few pages back. Obviously, and preferably the plan was to have him as back up pre-Lilo. He has shown good signs playing for UC Vikings and we can only hope he will be like Mo'unga in his first year. There still maybe a...

    The Wallabies Thread

Sorry, where did you get the "pegged for development behind closed doors" from? Of the 10 players brought in this year the vast majority ( I would go as far as to say all) have been to cover injures or players returning to Europe.

    Brumbies 2017

TBH there is about 5 I would have in the Brumbies and only DHP and Kerevi would be straight in. The others I would have a look if there were any new talent to take before I would settle on them. Coleman would be the 6th but that's being greedy. What looks like a dilemma at 8 may not be an...

OJ Noah or Oakman-Hunt are the other options. The latter was with the squad on standby at the end of last year.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

It probably part of the key issue that is then only overshadowed by the products we have. Its a bit like the old jokes. You know, the old 4 sports walk in to a bar type thing.... but we are the butt of the joke when it comes to broadcasting. So the AFL and NRL have a buffet of product. The...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

I can't disagree with your first point. Ditto re: Taliauli - surprised he didn't get the backs award.

    Brumbies 2017

Sadly the off- field side dictates what the on-fielded side of an operation can do. They are intrinsically liked and we can see the results as the UC Canberra Vikings have had a tight budget (no memberships this year or pre-sale tickets) and we also saw cut backs and cost saver toward the end of...
