    Brumbies 2017

Sorry, my figures were a barebones “guesstimate” of running a Super Rugby team, not including all the peripherals. Monkeyboy’s comments re; splitting the Brumbies and ACTRU are spot on (I suspect it is similar in WA). Amirite highlights other key issuers including if you do split them. Cost duplication...

    Brumbies 2017

Salary cap is about $4.5 million plus a $500,000 allowance for third-party payments.I don't think EPS or development is in that cost nor if you call in EPS for injury cover which after 4 games (IIRC) get additional payments. So add in coaches back-end staff etc so another $1mil then...

Scrubber - correct with no cash or assets. ARU will have to supplement. Aquis sponsorship is on going until 2018 at minimum (8mill over 6yrs) is the split) and have soften the financial outlays with more community based funding. The UC and ACT Government dealing are being kept very quiet but...

    Women's Rugby Union

Game update: (and a teaser to get you to watch the game!) [spoiler]Half time - Ferns 17 - Wallaroos 3. Its a lot tighter; so much so that a Fern gets a YC early in the second half. Much better game from the Wallaroos.[\spoiler]

    Reds 2017

Personally I welcome the appointment of the Reds rookie assistants as a breath of fresh air and a nice show of confidence and bravery. Stiles knows it will have direct impact on his record so behind the scene they must have weighed up the gamble. It brings in fresh. uncontaminated ideas...

    Brumbies 2017

@BR - Toua @ 10 both terrifies and excites me and is an intriguing proposition, As for Jooste at 15 its not bad option. I know i am tempting fate with this suggestions but JJH at 10? I am not sure about the kicking component of his game but the rest might fit.

Yeah, nah. If your looking for turnover ball I would put Fardy ahead of him comfortably.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

I think its strategic. Stadiums not too big so you can fill them with crowds not overloaded on the game and it rewards those people who cant usually get to regular season games. We all know that 9.5 out of every 10 Sydney sports fans like to stay home based on the TV rating v crowd numbers for...

    Brumbies 2017

Depending on the next signing which I really hope is young blood, the roster you refer to as one of the weakest is one I feel more optimistic about based on what I have seen of the players - an improvement over the stronger "on paper" team we had last year.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

7HD FTA broadcasts a fair few live as well. So between Foxtel, Twitter and 7HD you don't need an NFL subscription here in Australia if you have Foxtel to see most games; and a significant amount of them live.

    Brumbies 2017

Yeah, the Benny A was more of a nice thing to do to add some experience - but it would have to be a shared thing. It might sound strange but even Fardy and Butler might end up with limited minutes with the way the Tominator play @6 in the NRC and if Alcock is the goods at 7 which leave a lot...

    Brumbies 2017

Fardy is a really good choice (and personally my first choice). He is the only player who is not the captain but can have the ear of the ref - even at Wallaby level. Actually, I have gut feeling his absence correlates with the Wallabies (Moore). Beyond Fardy I would be thinking giving Benny A...

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

I think this is more the key point. Decisions can always be 50/50 but between how the ruling was made (or referred to Nigel to be made) and how it its then reviewed; only s small segment of the play is reviewed rather than consideration for all circumstances its always going to cause issue...

Not likely - it is the reality, and yes sadly due to Lilo's illness. All the players you mention are contracted. Not quite mid table teams they play for

    Brumbies 2017

The search is on. I figure the Australia part is a red herring, the Japan part is for Barnes & Super Rugby left overs and maybe the NZ part is Garden-Bachop! ACT Brumbies search world to replace Christian Lealiifano, Matt To'omua, Robbie Coleman...

Good luck to him, but I fear it could be hard to get a run especially with the Tominators recent from @6!
