    Refereeing decisions

The players are on control of scrums. Yes the ref needs to call the scrum in and penalise as required, but the players control the vast majority of the scrum occurring (knock on/forward pass/etc etc), and control the speed of the setup, contact and shape post engagement and resets.

Welcome aboard @Goodfun, for a first timer you've got a lot of questions mate! It was a wet day at CSU on the weekend which didn't really allow either team to get into any type of groove. James Old played well as did Richard Manion. Paul Hood and Brent Merritt were the standouts in the CSU...

The point of my post was to highlight that the club's themselves voted to play on ANZAC day, it wasn't a SIRU board decision.

Hey @Richrugby89, I've been doing a bit of research on this and the club's decided to play ANZAC day in order to have a bye for country week at Bowral. Might be worth having a yarn to your President about this decision...

#SIRU2015 Round Two Preview: Morning all. First up, my apologies for not getting a season preview or Round One preview up, I don’t have the time that I used to at the moment!! Secondly, I’m not tipping a Match of the Round this week as I think there are three games that have the potential to...

#SIRU2015 Rep Squad announced: SIRU Rep Coach Richard Turnbull has selected the below squad from a total of 71 players who made themselves available for the 2015 Rep Program and it looks like a pretty sharp team, particularly in the backs. There are plenty of options amongst the inside backs...

Ha Ha, I see what you did there... Seth Stoltenberg is a Yabbies Junior and is one example of the solid junior pathway that the Yabbies have put a lot of effort into.

    Refereeing decisions

I know there is no offside line at the tackle, but ultimately the gate is all about offside, it's purpose is to define entry and incorrect entry is essentially offside. I agree that the tackle is general play, however the whole premise of the player standing at the halfback goes against every...

    Refereeing decisions

I reckon it's possible to argue that there is an offside line at the tackle (even though the lawbook states otherwise), regardless of whether there is a ruck/maul formed. If there is a gate, there are entry points and therefore there are offside lines. We don't allow players (other than the...

Welcome to the forum Oranges, the home games will likely be split between Griffith and Hay. Not sure exactly what that will look like though.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2015

The SIRU Board have always done their best to create a competition for all comers. I agree that the current situation at Griffith is not ideal, but what should the board have done? Made them play 1st and 2nds? How? Remember that they originally nominated 1st, 2nd, 3rds and Under 17's and then...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2015

Keep your pants on you two, there's plenty of space for all of us on here. Take a breath, have a lie down and relax. My understanding is that Griffith had some safety concerns about their younger players playing second grade and chose to nominate 1st and 3rd Grade for this reason - to allow...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2015

My gut feeling tells me the contenders for the Top 6 will likely include (in no particular order) Waratahs, Ag College, Leeton, Albury, Young, City, CSU and Tumut. Griffith have only nominated 1st and 3rd Grades which indicates some issues out there, Temora losing the Fijian influence will take...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2015

I think some clubs were affected by their 2014 season which caused some issues for them into the 2015 season. Hay are playing as Griffith's 2nd Grade team. Temora are 1st Grade only and Junee are playing as Cootamundra's 3rds. Also, no under 17's in 2015 which is a real shame. I think it...
