How does this help Australian Rugby.

Eh. Just the usual ADHD supporter mentality. "Play the kids" is just the same as "Spin it Wide (at every opportunity)" and "Go for tries!". Everything has to happen NOW! and be dramatic. Good things take time.

    Cipriani going to Sale

I'm pretty sure that the Rebels already have their replacement plans all sorted.

Form Australian Players After Round 4

I am sure if the Rebels had two superior locks to him, he would be playing 6. We do not currently, and his usefulness to the team as a 4 is far more important.

    Cipriani going to Sale

Really, I don't care. We'll find another 10. Although, I agree with Dumbledore, JOC (James O'Connor) looked heaps better as a 12 than a 10. Edit: I mean, we managed to survive losing a top class tight head prop. Why get all fussy about losing a less important player?

Form Australian Players After Round 4

Last year I would have said that Luke Jones wasn't big enough to play lock. This year, I would say he is. Not because he has increased his height at all but instead because he's added on some serious beef and can legitimately play tight.

He certainly looks big enough for the job on the park. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

From looking at their recruitment, I think that they've attempted to look at young kids in various positions. There is likely a number of older players on two year contracts who will not be renewed at the end of the year. But, its complicated beast, you don't want to have too many kids in a...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

There's not a lot of happiness I took out of that loss. But what there is, is expressed in these two quotes. In particular, I love that it has been the Rebels forwards who have been the strength of the team in these early losses. Too often prior to the start of the season we were dismissed as...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

A penalty try is still 'crossing the line' in my book. Especially one which comes from an infringement by a defending team to bring down a maul 2 metres out that was going fast enough to command a place at the Melbourne Cup. To suggest otherwise is facetious, back pandering nonsense. I could...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

Everyone seems obsessed with the idea of JOC (James O'Connor) as 10, particularly after his recent comments on the topic. But, I am inclined to agree with Jnor. From what I have seen, the only time that the Rebs have looked fluid in attack this year (against the blues in the trial game) came largely off the bat...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

Simpler really has nothing to do with it. 2010 was the Super 14. In the Super 14, all teams played each other once. Ergo, there were 13 games that the Lions played in 2010. If they went without a victory then.... dun dun dun... 13 > 11. Edit: not to mention they didn't break the drought until...

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

Luke Jones' performances this year have been fantastic thus far. Has really earned his starting spot. Saffy did seem to add some starch. Still prefer him to Chamberlain, despite the love on that the commentators had for the latter.

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

I'm not happy with the outcome. I am of course happy that the Rebs improved, but that they couldn't lift their intensity again in the second half frustrates me. I suspect it stems from same source that caused their problems last week. Less match fitness than their opponents. That Rd 1 bye is...

    Waerea-Hargreaves to the Tahs?

I realise you're being facetious but where would he play at national level? He's not tall enough to be a genuine jumping option, thus 6 is out. He doesn't look big enough to play as a modern 8. He doesn't have the skillset to play as a 7. Unless they were intending to transform him into a back...

Rugbyheaven also has 8:10 (AEDT). I wouldn't be surprised if the Fox Site included pre-game fluff. The S15 site is probably just being lazy.

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

Well, I've never been much one for navel gazing about what 'should' happen. I'll wait until after the game before I give my 2 cents. That being said, anyone planning to watch the game in Melbourne somewhere? I know the Army boys like the Turf bar, but I find it often too crowded for my...

    Rebels 2012

You have to question if that is lack of ability or lack of intention. Using them could have been coached out of him, and now its a rusty tool in the shed, so to speak. I think 1 bad game is hardly a reason to go calling for players heads. If he continues to under perform, I am sure he will be...

    Rebels 2012

If they were going to drop Cipriani, I would expect to see Beale at 10 over JOC (James O'Connor). We saw this setup being used rather liberally in the Blues trial match, with Beale coming in as alternate first reciever, feeding JOC (James O'Connor) and getting good runs. Which arguably, is a much easier switch to fix, since 10...

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

You must of either missed the Rebels v Tahs game or I was watching a different one. The Rebels were not fast enough to the breakdown, certainly but we were not outmuscled by the Tahs in the tight. If anything, I would have said the opposite.

    Rebels 2012

Interesting. Mine was older SAH, probably mid-30s. I didn't notice any such individuals as the young boy you described. Mine was more of the type Daz describes; I heard "all day" a few times from him. Although his default position seemed to be to criticise the Rebels play, about how they...
