    2013 S15 Referees

It's definitely true that what separates the top refs from the rest are their fitness, positioning and ability to keep a cool head under pressure. But pretty much all refs at that level should have the lawbook almost memorized back to front. At the end of the day they are the only ones on the...

    Rugby documentary here.

Great doc, very interesting. But found myself laughing for a lot of it, I mean it's just rugby, not world war 2 :D

    Waratahs 2013

I'd be looking at giving Mitchell a run at 15, and then playing Turner/Folau on the wings, with Betham/Kingston coming off the bench.

    2015 World Cup: England

Holy crap, we are in for a tough test. I suppose if you are going to win the world cup, getting England and Wales out of the way is best done early. And I'm sure the feeling is mutual. Anyway, this will ensure the team forces itself to be ready for the world cup, we seemed to take it a tad...

Quade telling it how it is

I for one thank Quade for his services to Australian rugby. He has trained hard for years to represent his country. Good luck in the future mate. (assuming he doesn't accept the rookie contract offer) Maybe we can have a separate thread with positivity?

Quade telling it how it is

Ok I guess that can account for it. Seems a bit harsh though. Seems like they are making an example of him to stop more off field crap given how many awesome fly halves we now have.

Quade telling it how it is

what the hell are the ARU doing? I haven't read the thread. Just heard they are offering him a rubbish deal. They better have a good excuse, like it or not he is one of our best backs.

    End of Year Tour 2012

Does the TAB have books open for John Eales medal 2013? I wanna put money on Cummins right now. Another sensational game from our #1 winger.

GAGR Vote - Should Deans go after the EOYT?

Well my first thought would be to let his contract run, then let him re-apply for the job while comparing him to the other candidates. Or if he does terrible on this tour, get early applications for the job and if anyone outstanding puts their hand up then maybe think about replacing early...

Australia v. France 10 Nov 2012 Stade de France, Paris

Please keep Cummins in the side, that man is built for test rugby. Once JOC (James O'Connor) comes back into #10 and he gets world class service he will be a try machine.

    Respect for Refs..an interesting article

I have a lot of time for Brian Moore, and this is a topic I think is very important heading forward. There is a disturbing trend arising in rugby, at both grassroots and professional level. This is an extremely important article and every referee should read it. Because refs CAN stop this trend...

Herald Sun Article - Rugby boring

I'm sick of this attitude that every game needs to have tries. If you have some games that are decided on penalties every so often, then it makes the games with tries more exciting, in the sense that you aren't predicting tries. I found it quite interesting to see a team's defense STOP NZ FROM...

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

After watching the replay finally. I think it's not a try. Only because Jane didn't just tap the ball, he pretty much flicked it up to himself which constitutes carrying/"holding" it IMO (even if it's just for a second). Other than that, Jane was complying with all the touch laws, he seems like...

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

Not exactly..The ball is "in touch" when it touches anything or anyone, on or beyond the touchline. A player with both feet in play is not beyond the touchline, therefore if Jane had his foot in touch, then the ball was out, if not, then it was a try. Borderline stuff though. If the ball was...

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

If the ball was not across the plane of touch, then yes it doesn't matter where his foot was. I just remember watching and thinking it should have been awarded. We need a replay to judge step by step.

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

] Sure about this? I only saw it in full speed but thought he was just in. Anyway, the only way it was not a try is if Jane's foot was out when he had his foot close to the line when he first tapped the ball. And if that was the case, then no try was correct.

Great test match. But I think NZ should have been awarded that try...

Bryce Lawrence - JO'N forced my retirement

He was a good ref. Just never a world class ref which is what you need to ref teir 1 tests regularly well. (like Nigel Owens, Steve Walsh, Craig Joubert) I'm just concerned that we are caving into pressure a bit to much nowdays. Just because the ignorant masses were probably right about...
