I could see 3 offences (mainly time wasting) in that period of play from the force. A strict ref would yellow card any of them. Personally I'm surprised the ref waited until the 3rd to do anything.

I thought it would be hard to change to saying "set" when reffing. But soon realized how much I hated saying pause in the first place and how much less stressful this new call is. (so it became a piece of cake) I don't think it will change much, but the call definitely needed to be simplified...

The yellow cards were fine. Anyway.. Decent start to the season the backline looks better than it has in years. Godwin looked impressive at 12 and always got the ball free in contact. Hopefully they get a BP win next week.

Not the Reds night tonight. Brumbies forward pack got over the advantage line well, and the defence was solid. Outside backs did their bit and got the try which was the difference. Reds look really good for 2013 though, better luck next week.

Yeah, I expect it will be like this for a few rounds. Refs want to set a standard and players will still be looking to gel with each other under pressure and under new game plans. (so we get more errors/stoppages) Then suddenly in a few weeks one of those 51-50 games will happen and all hell...

An interesting look back at 2012. Some good set moves and good counter attacks in there. My favorites are probably the Welsh try v Ireland (I think it was Davies) and Gear vs Ireland (6-7min). Tries are in chronological order.
