Bryce Lawrence - JO'N forced my retirement

Australia did spit the dummy after the Ireland game. And that is specifically why I mentioned them in my post, right next to the part where it says "SARU". Yea, this will show them. If they don't perform the ignorant masses will put pressure of their appointments, good plan.

Bryce Lawrence - JO'N forced my retirement

Well look what happens when the ARU and SARU try to influence test rugby refereeing. Bryce was one of NZ's top refs, and due to all the bitchyness he wasn't allowed to ref many games this year and just ended up retiring. You don't have to like him to be against this sort of crap. I just trust...

Bryce Lawrence - JO'N forced my retirement

Sad the way this has all turned out, it's a bad precedent to set (for many reasons). Hopefully he has a good career as a ref coach. At the end of the day he reffed 25 tests and was one of NZ's top refs for a few years. He did his bit for the game and was maybe over-promoted towards the end...

Larkham inducted into Sports Hall of Fame

Best player I've seen in my lifetime (as a rugby fan). Great choice.

    French Running Rugby

Good find, nice game. The top 14 isn't as full on as super rugby. But their season is much longer and the talent base is mainly from one country (obviously each team imports a few players, but still predominantly french). So they have their awesome games, they just aren't as often. But in a...

    French Running Rugby

I was catching up on the top14 and came across this game. Some great tries and an amazing finish, (hint: An Aussie is involved ;) ) Try #2 (starts about 1min in) was my favorite, "multi-phase" isn't the right word, more like "infinite phase". Enjoy

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

My rough understanding: This comp is between the best pick of our yr 12 comp, and theirs. Where the players play against each other (in their respective states) each week and the players/coaches have a good guide of where everyone is in terms of skill. Both countries are on a similar playing...

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

Australia's defence was awesome. Kind of reminded me of the world cup quater final against SA. The game was a high standard and great to watch. Must have been fun for all the players/coaches involved. Good day of rugby.

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

He was right there and had a better view than anyone. Also, the slo motion replay shows a try The ref is doing well. Australia has been playing great. Very good in defence. But NZ look the better team heading into the 2nd half. Anyway, good rugby.

    Berrick Barnes, Honourary All Black

That's pretty cool. I suppose twitter can sometimes bring the best out of test rugby.

    National U/16 Championships 2012

People say "let the game flow" as if the way to have a free flowing game is to be more lenient at the rucks, when it fact the opposite is true. If you aren't strict at the ruck in a competitive game, the defending team will just slow the ball down all game and use their hands in the ruck at...

    National U/16 Championships 2012

I am saying that the "cutter" technique doesn't comply with the laws. IS wanted some references in law so I gave him some. The first reference was taken from Law 7 if anyone is interested.

    National U/16 Championships 2012

The laws state that you are allowed to: And they also state you are not allowed to: If I'm reading correctly, we are talking about the kind of tackle where a defender charges in (very low) shoulder first to hack at the ball carriers knees. "Grasping" has never occurred when I have seen...

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

True, they should have tried to let Alexander on the pitch, not Fainga'a. I suppose it got confusing because I think they were trying to sub Robinson for him at the same time this was going on. No doubt the teams and refs will get this clarified between them during the week.

2012 Rugby Championship R5G1 Springbokke vs Wallabies @ the Bull Ring

where is that bit written? I'm not an expert on subs, but I don't think it says anywhere that you can exceed your allocated substitution limit. It might say that a player can be subbed and then come back on, which Robinson did. But that doesn't imply he can become an 8th sub.

Quade telling it how it is

If Cooper was going off to rugby league, would he be going through all of this? I hope not. It seems he is passionate about the Wallabies. If he gets his way I'd hope he stays. But if he raves on about all these changes, only to sign for the Broncos or something, that would be very disappointing.
