TT Rd 2 - Chiefs v Brumbies, Sat 22nd May, 5.05pm AEST, FMG Waikato

Poor showing from the Brumbies, the lack of speed and intensity bites again. Lazy chasing. slow to move up is putting zero pressure on teams and gifting time and space poor kicking really hurt us. I don't get why we would want to always kick to D'MaK. I really didn't understand going to a...

TT Rd 2 2021: Blues vs NSFW Waratahs

I think the pointing skills session was the other option instead of the tackling skill session the other week. Good to see a skill sessions yielding results. :D

Yes! The Hooper. We can out energise them..............

    Super Rugby T-T Rd2: Hurricanes v Rebels

I notice some other are critical of him, but considering it his first game its the most attacking I have seen the Rebels all season. I would persist with him. If nothing else it highlighted how badly they need a 10! That 9, 11, 13, 14, 15 combination looked like the most attacking and...

I did say watch out for him! Its great we have options. The fact that with Samu and Cusack out we didn't lose much using the rookies was a great sign. Luke R is looking really good and potentially a real weapon. I like Rory and he is performing really well and certainly settling in. I like...

    Trans-Tasman Super Rugby 2021

In reality the Brumbies should being with a good shot based off the Crusaders performance. As for the piss-pot-Reds (the only drunk team), now sober should be able to at least match the Brumbies performance against the Saders or there should be some serious questions asked; or a call up for...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

IMHO the whole PE thing for the NZRU needs to be considered in a different light to PE to stand up teams or a competition or what is going on with RA. What NZRU are seeking to do (raise cash) generally is to expand or refinance as you are going backwards. Its clear they are going backwards and...

    Trans-Tasman Super Rugby 2021

Close. Literally being annoying turds! In repeat of the infamous Apollo 10 incident there was a KearnsMardo's that got loose and had to be "retrieved" and disposed of as "space waste". RA have been trying to supress the story for years but it just wont stop. The floating turd mystery that...

    Rebels 2022

Yeah, not sold on resigning him based of the last few seasons. Not sure if this is a solution or part of (or continuation) of the problem. Especially noting they need change, the rosters not quite right and they have signed before sorting out a new coaching regime.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Strong evidence now merging to suggest that an AU domestic competition is not only viable but could grow our game and revenue.

    Trans-Tasman Super Rugby 2021

Um, o_O Have you watched a Tahs or a RA Rebels game this season or even the last few seasons? Decent contest to try watch another Tah failure, RA funded Rebels flop and hear the pro amateur, lower the bar sermons continue. What's your solution? American type World Series against...

    SRT-T R1: Crusaders v Brumbies

The Brumbies actually like to invest the time to develop the players to make sure they don't get burnt early. Some examples: Connal got impatience and left the Brumbies set up which they were disappointed and frustrated with (although ahead of him in the queue was Moore, Bongo then FF (Folau Fainga'a)) but...

    SRT-T R1: Crusaders v Brumbies

Personally, FF (Folau Fainga'a) frustrates the Mst's. He is very good (generally and technically in the scrum IMHO), but he is like a lazy but talented child. Just seems to always take the easy option and won't get stuck in but still gets the results. His tackling at times is a demonstration of that (the low...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

IIRC Stan is has intentions to add tennis in to the sports package: Wimbledon and Roland Garros being some of it. I would presume that the Rugby model was test that has yield better than expected results. Fingers crossed they add more sports - a Eurosport's tie up would be awesome!

    Australian Rugby and private equity

IMHO on of the distinct difference and the key issue for PE in Australian rugby is the monumental shift in implementing an business practise that will be new to anything RA related: Accountability. Oh the horror. Boards being held to account by PE's. If you interested in a motivated...

Super Rugby RD 9 Rebels v Brumbies

Just curious for some other opinions, but IMHO To'omua looked off and was certainly below his best. He looked slow and at times hesitant. I cant help but wonder if there is a lingering or low level concussion thing he is suffering with.

Super Rugby RD 9 Rebels v Brumbies

It appears in the second half we got to the boot and withdraw in to our shells. Instead of getting on attack, taking the game away and closing it it out we play territory and pressure then hope for errors. The flaw with that plan is if you have the ball you have chance the Brumbies keep gifting...

Super Rugby RD 9 Rebels v Brumbies

He was with the Melbourne Rebels ARC team for a season and was signed by the Reds for a season but never got a Super Rugby game. He was a pretty good sevens players at the National level. Agree re: your comments about the low standard of officiating overall.

Super Rugby RD 9 Rebels v Brumbies

Thats correct about the Poey Jnr tag Merrow. Apparently he is impressing. Thus far he certainly doesn't look like a rookie. High work rate, good skill set, works hard. One to watch. He is keeping Luke Reimer waiting in the wings for his opportunity. He is another potentially exciting prospect.
