    Where to for Super Rugby?

Club Rugby! ;) NRC is no good as its a perfect product for the market and could be really good for the game but nobody has enough political capital in to lever it for personal gain so it's a lame duck.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I always find it really intriguing that when it comes to rugby discussion in Australia its mainly linear and structured. Nation, state, region, suburb, school. We always seem to really want to stick with the same lego pieces we have had for the last 20 years and see what"new" thing we can build...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

But is this not just maintaining the status quo, the same status quo that has been fought for for years? The status quo that has now brought rugby to this position of not having a commercially viable nor saleable product? The same status quo that can't produce revenue independently of partners...

    Australian Rugby / RA

TBH WoB, this its sadly not new nor a shock in reality. The "ignore" Australia line is what I think will happen until the current state based RU setup and club rugby obsession is ended. Aussie rugby has known for years that we are struggling for both income, market share and relevance but we...

    Australian Rugby / RA

You are both spot on and it's like Aussie rugby always want to get to this same spot every time we have this conversation. And we are well and truly here again. Personally, I am still fascinated as to what Aussie rugby seem to be obsessed and fixated with certain elements when it comes to...

So, the queue of prospective employers for the innocent and wronged Folau are where? Free speech is one thing, but when you bad for business its pretty clear and obvious. So playing at the single club on this planet that made him an offer and under the condition he give up some of his right to...

    Brumbies 2020

I think that will be the first instinctive reaction and actually not a bad thing for the game post virus and it will alleviate the financial burden. But it will be interesting to see how that's plays out as I believe that option won't be available until quite while after we get back underway...

    Brumbies 2020

There is a lot yet to play out but I would suspect that post virus financials will determine a roster. Whites deal may never come to fruition as I am guessing all teams will be looking for a pretty low dollar roster. The big question I have is what will happen to RA top up contracts? It may...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I also wouldn't mind it if we got a NRC / Super Rugby hybrid product started early and use some of the already booked facilities and TV arrangement to get some games televised (if we can't attend). It might be all dometic based stuff (Womens and Mens) but let's make the most of the opportunity methinks.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

As a suggestion, it wouldn't be bad if all the members contacted their clubs and advised they don't want refunds for their memberships even though games may be off or we cant attend. It's a way we can all help support our teams financially at least.

I think he is looking despairingly at it. The cupboard is bare so he cooking with the scraps he's got. More gruel anyone?

    Refereeing decisions

Lets face it, its only a small group of players will know the Laws. Even the Refs struggle with them. The Tahs for example certainly won't as they are struggling to remember to catch, pass, run; and that on the rare occasion they trip over the first hurdle and remember to turn up. I have only...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think you may find that minority is larger than you think. Just most are embarrassed to confess they watch publicly as they feel a little like traitors. But the games are usually of higher quality so if you love rugby they are hard not to watch.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Travel restrictions are only in for some places O/S. South Africa is not a hot spot. Possibly games can still be played and teams can travel as flights are fairly light on passengers, some games will be played in closed stadiums and players kept at a distance. Its fairly low risk and works...

    Refereeing decisions

Yeah, I was surprised the Refs knew the laws as well. Its Law 18-2-(b) - A player jumps, from within or outside the playing area, and catches the ball, and then lands in the playing area, regardless of whether the ball reached the plane of touch. I love the way Jaco says its the new law to...

How very Tahs 2020. White on White because we are still sorting out shite out and can't get the basics together or is it trying to be more like the Brumbies? :p

It will be interesting to see what they bring to the table. I believe good choices and some new perspectives.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Ah, now this is where we can draw on the experience of other sports. If you think about digital media (websites, social media, podcast, marketing etc) you can produce it all in one hit which offsets cost and you get better and more content that you control. It's why many sports are shifting to...
