And yet they’re 2 wins clear

    NSW AAGPS 2024

That’s kinda of my point. Joeys tells the boys that are 1s and 2s candidates to prioritise school. If memory serves Pat Young played CIS last year, that was an exception and also a year when Joeys underperformed (even considering all the injuries).

So, Joeys, 2 wins clear, have no players on the list. Is there a correlation between team Success and focus?

A bit weird seeing a Newington marquee to market school enrolment at the GWS Netball today…..

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Doubt it, history tells us that players in Aus Schools have already been excused from further participation in academies for this year.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Yeah nah. PONI is a genuinely dumb way of doing it…… sure it’s a way but it is a limiting way thunked up by not very bright people. There should be singular pathway once we get to state level so talent can be assessed on a single stage. Clubs and schools into associations and districts into...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

If PONI really had an eye on the future it would’t select the best players from last season. ….. and the selectors for PONI aren’t volunteers.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

If you are protected from competition then there is a bias towards you. Players that might challenge you for your spot don’t get that opportunity in a rep format. Unless players are dropped from PONI then there isn’t an argument to say there is no bias to them.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

That’s a bit simplistic, the majority of players are at private schools and they run the best comps. It’s hard to be the best unless you are competing against the best. Makes a further mockery of PONI, take last years best and protect them against competing against the challengers for this...

Prior is also yr 12 but unfortunately on the injured list. Blair and O’Connor are in the 3s.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Blair is playing 3rds with OConnor, Prior and Minto are injured.

Grover is in the gilded PONI cage so there is no way to tell if he is amongst his peer group.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

All of this is understood, there must be a further element to this though where by players not named in PONI or NSW Schools teams and not injured must have been given a golden ticket straight into Gen Blue U18. Anyways, all reinforces that PONI and other forms of golden tickets are dumb...

    NSW AAGPS 2024

The PONI scam is the major reason for inconsistent selection calls. Sets in bias and means protected players don’t need to push ….. so you probably do have an issue with PONI you just don’t realise!

    NSW AAGPS 2024

PONi, for players so good they don’t need to play to win.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

NRL - That'll happen with half the gilded cage PONIs anyway… free development for the NRL, help them ID exactly who they should steal to upset RA. I heard the horse guy thinks they named it PONI in honour of him then Gus Gould pointed out it was PONI not Pony…. Dead donkey more like it.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

PONI is the dumbest thing going on in junior rugby. It is the opposite of development. It is so bewilderingly dumb but then again it is a concept developed by RA which is the very best union in the world at doing dumb things. We don’t call out players for poor form on this site but there is a...

I would wager London for a brick that NZ, RSA and France don’t have PONI…. Sounds like the sort of thing a game afraid of rugby league would invent. Ironically, the cloistering of the elite classes ensures the eventual collapse. Time for a proper revolution.

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Said it before, will say it again. The PONI thing is dumb, total donkey of an idea. Why put young developing players in gilded cages? Let’s see where they are at v their contemporary challenger. If they’re so good they’ll stand up to the test with ease, god forbid we find out they have been...
