Nope, you are misinformed. I knew most of the boys who were in the 2019 View 1sts and many of their Dads. No "recruits" amongst them, don't try to sully other schools with your uninformed aspersions, it's poor form.
  2. The Grail

    NSW AAGPS 2024

Nope, it was not. That's absolute rubbish, most were old boys son's, fathers who were at View in the 80's.

I know View does not recruit for rugby, or any other sport, I doubt Shore does and am skeptical that Joeys does, but don't know. So lets not say "everyone recruits" because it is not accurate.

Joker, I know View won all their 16s games on the weekend, (they have been hampered with flu last week), but apart from the As winning on the bell 28-26 that has already been reported, I can’t fill in the 16B score.

He was indeed educated at Ashgrove in Brisbane, agreed he earned his rugby nickname, "Nobody", ('cause Nobody is perfect), & the greatest Wallaby of all time. He also sent his son to Riverview! Fantastic bloke to boot.

High could have a decent 1st XV at times in that era. In '88 View beat them and were one of the few teams to do so that season. Some of High's team had Def Leppard inspired hair like fifteen long-haired Friends a' Jesus in a chartreuse micra-bus.

1988 was a tough season, Joeys won against View 6-3 if memory serves...

No pie report from Ballymore, reason is they were Four N' Twenty brand and I have an aversion to this brand for a specific reason, even though I am sure this doesn't apply to them now. It's not just because of their fine ground-up mince swimming in a pool gravy, and thin pastry. Seeing its...

Boston (12) is having an absolute cracker. His speed and ability to reverse direction of play in a split second is something to see.

Gotta love Ballymore, right on top of the field. Lote Tuqiri sitting quietly right in front of me.

Lets not forget that joeys 1981 side was helped significantly by a very speedy back who was in the 1980 Riverview premiership side, who wanted to repeat year 12. As discussed previously, you can't repeat year 12 at Riverview, so he did year 13 at the Gulag, ended up on their wing in the Joeys...

All country boys see here is a good target for dog tucker, last time I checked there were country boys at Kings.

Interesting, yep there are still a lot of boys from Wagga heading to Riverview as well. Jim's grandsons were there with our boys and I know one son was a year below me at school.

Congratulations Joker! Lenehans are well known Narrandera family, as you would know. Jim was an old mate of my old man's (same vintage at View) and many others, of course. Jim "Golden Boots" Lenehan was a Wallaby in the late 50's. He passed last year. Too late to ask my old man about the shot...

Yeah, you are free to believe what you will, I'll go with the Oxenhams written family history, they have it documented. The ones I have met are all great blokes, all in various professions and were contributing to higher sporting teams/crews at View in my generation and previous generations...

And others who I know who were at Joeys, have sent their sons to other AAGPS schools. Little known fact but it was a prominent View family that accidently funded the building of the Joeys Gulag. Humphrey Oxenham a wealthy businessman living at Randwick in an impressive abode overlooking the...

Yeah, View is 1560 including the Jnr School, 1350 for yr 7-12. Maybe Joeys is just feeding them twice a day ;-)
  20. The Grail

    NSW AAGPS 2023

Nope, View has a little over 1350 students year 7 to12, not 1800. Wikipedia (so who knows?), says Joeys caters for 2,000 boys year 7 to 12.
