    NSW AAGPS 2017

We all agree that other sports are eating our lunch. We all agree that the ARU are doing nothing to support junior rugby, including school boy rugby. So unless we lift the profile of our school boy rugby, as opposed to sticking with the same old same old, the sliding effect will inevitably...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

    1. I do think that the Wallabies team is not so separate to this "junior" level of rugby. This IS one of the major breeding grounds. 2. I do believe that a mixed comp of top schools, regardless of association, will be a benefit for the playing skills of all boys BECAUSE you play schools with...

Rugbybloke, Couldn't agree more, the idea of including Auggies etc has been floated with a view to creating a grade/comp, prior to each associations normal comp, that would be extremely interesting to watch and I believe would benefit the rugby development of all concerned, others think...

Sideline and Azzuri, Whilst we may have different opinions as to what is best, and I think that's ok, everything is debatable, this forum is designed for shared ideas. Most times I think we all agree, as there is normally a logical clear answer. This time I think we/the school rugby...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

Given that there are clearly some very intelligent and game experienced people sharing ideas on this forum, I am surprised at a few things: 1. Wait until the answer is revealed, too many toys from cots are hitting the ground! 2. I believe,as quick hands intimated, that the deal is done. I am...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

Many many logical points made by those above. I do think those who keep banging on about the "must have" home and away GPS comp, need to "consider" that there CAN be a solid comp that includes non-GPS schools. The home and away comp has been in practice for 3-4 years out of 100 years! I have...

    CAS U16s 2016

Tahs247, sorry, clearly I wasn't clear. Of course any type of scholarship can be given out but don't call it a music scholarship when in fact the real reason is the boy is a superstar sportsman. Also don't bring a boy in at the last moment eg year 10-11 just to win a comp. Yes a school can do...

    CAS U16s 2016

Yep agree CNP, Especially when recruited in year 7, so it can be sold that the boy was there the whole time. Only to find out later that when pubity hits all the other boys, our hero is no longer!

    CAS U16s 2016

AS, I completely agree with you but the reality is that most balanced people can see it is all just BS. Especially if a boy missed out after 6-8 years at a school! The worst case is when a boy moves from 1 good school to another.

    CAS U16s 2016

Ha Ha AS, It would be funny, if not true! The silly thing is that everyone knows it wasn't a home grown victory, if they win. So pointless! Some CAS schools do it too, which must mean that between the GPS and CAS, these relatively few schools, have produced many many fine orchestras!

Sideline, Here's another point of view. 1. You still get the cheering etc with 1 round, as has historically been the case. You don't get the chance to square up on a return, agree! In the past no one worried about the square up. You square up next year! 2. The word "trial" is unfortunate...

Spot on Lindommer, there are called "music" scholarships!

    NSW AAGPS 2017

Thanks Lindommer for the GPS correction. Even more reason if it has only been the last 3/4 years in the history of the GPS!

    NSW AAGPS 2017

Sideline, I am certainly NOT saying it is a done deal but I can see merit in playing more schools, whilst still having your own comp. My understanding was that the only reason that the GPS comp changed some 10 years ago was because of a seasonal time change of the GPS athletics. which threw...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

The home and away comp has only been in progress for the last 10 years or so. So for the previous decades the comp was 1 round! Question: Do you guys think it is better to play more or fewer schools in a season, assuming there is some grading to ensure no wipe outs? I assume there will be...

    CAS Rugby 2017

Teams, has anyone heard anymore about the changes next year, ie mixing up more games against the GPS etc and 1 CAS and GPS comp round, of which I am very hopeful will happen?

SDW, What teams did Doyle, Wallace and Rayner play in last year? And what are their strengths?

    CAS U16s 2016

BM, You are 100% correct, you badly needed some Waverley expertise and ticker to help the knox team. As William88 rightly points out, good luck to the boy and his family. Good luck to both teams!
  19. W

    CAS U16s 2016

Understand from a financial point of view, and aside from this player, very unfortunate that Knox do this type of thing, pity the knox boys who have been there for a long time and now miss out! Unless there is more to it!
