I and many many others, like the very vast majority, will be furious if it was Waverley. As a parent, and an old boy, we will want to know who made this decision and on what consultative basis with the broader community. As this doesn't just affect Waverley but every other CAS,GPS and CIS...

Lydian Lion, are you absolutely sure that Waverley said no, please confirm, because if this is correct the school wil need to explain.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

Azzuri, my thinking wasn't to create a new super comp.it was to cut the home/away games in half, thereby allowing more GPS , CAS and CIS pre-season game interaction. Each association would still have its own comp.as it currently stands based on 1 round. Others think something different but surely...

I agree with sideline, can someone who knows just let us know which school opted out, thanks.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

We would really like to hear the opinion of the GPS people re the CAS thread page 7 on the idea of spreading the schools comp. Apparently the head masters of 5 CAS schools said yes and 1 said no, so because it wasn't unanimous, the result was a NO, which many of us find unbelievable! Your...

Sideline, agree about the ARU but don't hold your breath, and soccer and the AFL are completely eating our lunch! My point isn't about how it is now ie rugby numbers in each age group now,it's about where we may like to be in the future! I think it's about drawing a line in the sand about were...

    CAS Rugby 2017

Sideline,I do agree with most of your comments. It's not an easy solution but a position needs to be established. I believe I am right in saying that each school has certain obligations that need to be fulfilled as part of being a CAS school and that involves sport, eg rugby. An example being...

    CAS Rugby 2017

Sideline view and rugby addict, a few comments. I disagree with sideline, all CAS schools have sufficient numbers to be competitive. I believe if you want to be a part of the CAS then you need to keep up, sorry but just accepting something else doesn't cut it imo, or join another association for...

    CAS Rugby 2017

Wow Lydian Lion, I think that is EXTREMELY disappointing for a multitude of reasons : 1. This protects the school/s who are currently not competitive, and disadvantages the schools who are serious. IMO every CAS school has the capability of producing strong teams, as most of the schools have...

Rod, couldn't agree more this Barker side now has experience and will be a major player in 2017. That is 1 of the reasons my rankings are as follows : 1. Waverley 2. Barker/ Aloys. 4. Knox. 5. Trinity. 6. Cranbrook.

William88, great review, I won't change your incorrect predictions but do love your analysis. I will make 1 comment, the waves boy to watch is the no.8 this year, who will be in year 11 in 2017. If anyone has a young lad in another school who is a rising star, without putting too much pressure on...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

Lindommer, In that year Joeys had the best GPS team throughout the ages but came last when they got into the 1STS. So I wouldn't draw any conclusions from this 1 game. For what it is worth, Waverley toured up there that year and beat both Terrace and Nudgee convincingly.

SDW, no problem,I would think there are numerous people, regardless of school, who would support you and anyone else if required. Anyway, 2017 should be great, like this year, with a lot of passionate school boy talent on show, go the waves!

    CAS Rugby 2017

Aaron, I didn't read SDW's comment anything like you apparently did. It was clear to me that he was praising both players highly! Also BACK OFF on your language, you don't know who you are talking to nor their rugby expertise. I certainly hope you played high level rugby eg first 15, but...

Mr TT, We are in unison! I also believe we will beat the geeps next year. P.S. Watch out for the boy who played no 8 for the waves this year. He will be in year 11 next year!

    CAS Rugby 2017

Mr TT, I absolutely agree that Knox has the best facilities, and probably more resources ie boys than any other CAS school, never in doubt. Best program and coaching? I think they were out coached this year by the Waverley coaches, as witnessed as Death Valley. Furthermore, the results...

MJ, You ran a great smoke screen, well done. I think we will find that the CAS 2017 team will have a fair mix of schools, probably mostly W and K. But IF, and probably a big IF, form plays a role in selections, then there could be a fair numbers from a few schools. I think the Waverley side...

Sure agree, if you think pick and drive is the most enjoyable type of rugby!

Love your enthusiasm, you must have a sticky (k) button on your pad! Anyway time will tell, good luck to all teams next year, and may the CAS thump the Geeps!
