2019 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I don’t think it helps that fans shit on it 24/7. Good luck building interest if your own constituents think their sport/product is turd. This years Super Rugby comp has been great in terms of competition, yes I am not a fan of the competition format but it doesn’t detract from the matches been played.

Im actually starting to think the issue is us, the fans. We need to stop kicking it while it’s down. It does absolutely nothing to improve the state of the game. Let’s get positive and do all we can to get people to games. Each and everyone of us, should be salesmen/women for the pro and amateur...

    Rugby 7s general chat

I can see Aus taking a similar route. I have heard rumors about their interest in getting Daugunu in from the Reds and ino as a fact they were at least interested in getting Cam Clark back over One per team rule I’d go Daugunu (Reds) Clark (Tahs) - good kicker as well which is desperately...

    Proposed Nations Championship

It’s the same amount of games as teams already play and in some cases less than they already do.

    RD 15: Sunwolves v Rebels

Not a bad side, ‘should’ do the job. Which is all that needs to be done atm.

    Rugby 7s general chat

I will tone down my rant a little here, and I jumped the gun a little. Looking at Saturday’s sport content, every channel is taken up by preferred live content, stuff you can’t argue against. F1, Cricket World Cup, AFL, NRL and Super Rugby. Just a little early to judge because of the recent...

    Rugby 7s general chat

Going to get my rant in early. Again, the 7s will only be shown on Kayo (well Saturday’s play). Once again, ignoring those that pay twice the amount of Kayo subscribers. It’s ridiculous and a clear indication of what is wrong with some things in our game. Why can’t it be played on both platforms?

    That’s promising. What an opportunity.

    Rugby 7s general chat

Awesome, let’s hope he turns out to be a good player. Not sure what his rugby background is or league for the matter. Hopefully he has some core skills like tackling and passing. The thing the US had with Baker and Isles was that both had an exceptional background of contacts sports with...

    We need outrage not sense.

    RD 15: Sunwolves v Rebels

Yep agreed. It’s something Australian rugby needs to change is the notion kicking is bad. Yes there is bad kicking, but it’s a skill that’s crucial to the game, if ignored you become that little bit easier for the opposition to contend with.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Agreed. As much as I have disliked Phipps selection the past couple of years, the past month has been the best he’s played in years. Beale I believe is the front runner for 15. So the bench will be Hodge (covers every position) and To'omua. Both offer goal kicking options if injuries happen

    RD 15: Sunwolves v Rebels

Against the Hurricanes we played the game in the right half in the second. So could afford to go backwards and play deeper. That should be the first thing sorted.

    RD 15: Sunwolves v Rebels

I personally think the plan b should be to play a strong kicking game, but they are bereft of that. Hodge is grossly under used and Quade who normally has a smart kicking game into the corners has lost it. The game against the Tahs was prime example of winning the kicking battle in the first...

    RD 15: Sunwolves v Rebels

I’d love to see the post contact meters in the past 6 weeks. Our forwards aren’t winning collisions, it’s probably the most important things in rugby these days. It immediately solves your ruck problem and the time given to the backline to perform.

    RD 15: Sunwolves v Rebels

The pack is desperately missing people capable of winning the contact zone. Also a little bit more respect for the ball at times. If we are going to kick, which I am fine with, it needs to be long in our half and down the blindside (there was a least 2 kicks last week to the openside winger, to...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I think as a blanket rule just about all the realistic World Cup options in any position have either had a very good consistent season or the past month have reached the best form they have had in a few seasons. Coleman, Dempsey and the past month for Quade have been the only iffy periods, and...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Close to what I’d have but I think one of Coleman, Arnold and Simmons will miss out. Having Jones and Tui offers cover at lock. Dempsey or McCaffrey to take the free spot, with the lock that misses out on call incase someone gets injured

    Where to for Super Rugby?

We (fans) have to do a better job at selling our own sport first. That’d require been respectful of other sports, instead of stick our nose up at league etc. and creating a class warfare that obviously exists between the two games in certain areas. And stop shitting on our own product unless...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It’s all down the the rhetoric they are grown to understand. I think it’s amusing that some of my mates that think Union is slow and boring because they are League supporters yet during NFL season they are dedicated supporters of a team. A sport that it’s incredibly stop start and makes rugby...
