Well take the U13's for example . If Easts had have been designated Eastern Region then you would have seen a lot of re-directs to Orange and maybe a few more to Green ( two from "The East" were re-directed anyway ) Again , the stated aim of the BJRU seems to have been disconnected , or...

Quite right Hound My son is out of Tennis for 6 months with stress fractures largely due to the fact that he plays year round and when I have encouraged him to step away and try some other things ( extolling the virtues of cross functional movement for longer term athletic development ) I was...

I can see the Country concept getting bastardised over the next few years with what it already happening . In the last 5 years in Club land ...overly ambitious and competitive Mums and Dads have formed the Super Teams , or , players and their Mums and Dads perceive a Club is stronger , want to...

The other broader point I would make is this : Schools are by their very nature Academic institutions . The choices for top tier student -athletes playing top level Rugby while continuing with their studies ( after they leave school ) , are becoming more challenged and more limited , as...

Nothing was being put to any vote, Sage and I do agree with some of what you say re : The National Focus of Rugby and the greater number of participants relative to any other team sport at GPS Schools. I am not suggesting that Rugby , Rowing and Track and Field are a package deal in where they...

Good luck in over turning decades of dogma and tradition re : Rowing The traditional nexus between Rugby and Rowing may have been lost for awhile but it is definitely on the way back in how Directors of Sport are trending ( some more committed than others ) Ultimately , Rowing is a size game...

Rowing and Track and Field have a big part to play in the cross flow relations between the sports . There isn't a snow flakes chance in hell you could have a decent Rugby Preseason and play GPS Rugby in Term 2 without impacting Rowing If you are a Rower / Rugby Player you are doing a...

I might add BSHS play IGS at Sunnybank on Wednesday night in final trial before they holidays . That will be a good pointer toward things . At the U14 level too considering that Ipswich were runners up last year and State High were 3rd

I don't disagree Wobble , although , the BSHS 13's are getting waaaaaayy too much credit before they have smacked everyone to pieces in the regular season The Ipswich 13's deserve poll position presently - especially after they ripped Terrace 13's apart last weekend 60 zip , and , given that...

IGS v State High at Sunnybank next Wednesday Night Should be quite a conflict ......... Given that it is State of Origin Night

There is an agreement ( unofficial and not actually signed off at Versailles ) between the Headmasters of a no poaching policy . Be cynical if you want but it is real , and frankly , schools couldn't be bothered with all the crap for the sake of one player or two players here and there. The...

Easy Tiger - I come in peace. " good luck to the kid" can also mean " well done and congratulations" and an acknowledgment to the hard work he is undoubtedly put in - which is what was meant. I'm wanting to see Grammar do well as I do all schools . It's good for the competition

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

Surely its OK to discuss U13 and U14 Rugby . No ? Just as its acceptable to talk about Rugby 2 years up in 15's / 16's ? Why are parents 2 years up more moderate and sagely and parents 2 years below OTT Nutters ? Could it be that all enjoy the experience positively just the same ? Anyway...

No worries Lion Man. I don't disagree with your assessment , however , a little perspective is not a bad thing here when you consider : 1. The BBC boys had been at camp last week and got back late Friday with no training 2. Several of these players then turned around and fulfilled their Term 2...

Wading is good. Wading works . But you may have to be wading a while until someone posts what you want to read. There was 2 or 3 pages of U15 News a couple pages back and Blue and White and others were put on the lie detector about what's going on at Nudgee and why their 15's will continue to...

Also I hear that Nudgee 13's matched it pretty handily against State High forwards and the contest was reasonably even upfront , however , whatever ball State High got they converted into points opportunity as they pimp slapped the Nudgee backs

Terrace 14's is a good example of the above point . Great competitive forward pack led by City 7 last year ...but and a bit nude at the back and would seem to struggle against top level backline attack weapons
